USA WOMEN’S U19 WORLD CUP TEAM 2025 RESULTS
BRNO, CZECHIA • JULY 12-20, 2025
The 2025 USA Basketball Women’s U19 National Team won their fourth consecutive FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup in Brno, Czechia. They began the quest for their fourth consecutive gold medal with a record victory over Korea breaking the U19 scoring record in a single game with a monstrous 134-53 victory. Sienna Betts scored a game-high 25 points. In their second matchup, the stars and stripes defeated Hungary 79-49. In a more balanced scoring affair, the U.S. had five players score in double digits. Kate Harpring led the group with a game-high 15 points. Facing off against Israel for the first time in the competition’s history, the U.S. won Group A with a 114-40 victory. Israel took an early 6-5 lead with 7:32 left in the opening period before the Americans responded with a 15-2 run. Saniyah Hall opened the game on a tear, scoring 12 points. Hall end- ed the game with 20 points, four rebounds and seven steals. Jazzy Davidson paced the squad with 24 points. Davidson continued her play into the round of 16 matchup vs. China, scoring 18 first half points. Addison Bjorn had her standout game of the tour- nament as the U.S. took a 122-57 win with 11 points and seven rebounds on just four shots. Betts racked up a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. In the quarterfinals against France, the Americans found themselves in a close game. After leading by as many as 13 in the first half, France cut the U.S. lead to six heading into the break. France pulled within one point with 3:45 left in the third period before the stars and stripes closed on a 6-0 surge. Struggling to break France’s full-court press, the Americans turned the ball over, leading 66-62 with 53 seconds left. A series of clutch defen- sive stops allowed the U.S. to take a 70-65 victory. With a trip to the gold medal match on the line, the USA defeated Spain 70-58. A tight knit first quarter saw the U.S. leading 20-19 at its conclusion. The Americans used a strong second quarter to take a 10-point lead into halftime. The second half was more of the same as Hall led the group with 16 points. In the gold medal matchup against Australia, both squads got off to a hot start from the field. The U.S. led 26-23 at the end of the opening period. The Americans pushed their lead to 10 at the break on a layup from Kayleigh Heckel as time expired. Heckel recorded 10 points and two assists in the first half. Australia cut the lead to five points with just over four minutes remaining before Betts and Davidson led a 7-0 surge to take home gold. Hall was named as tournament MVP as Betts joined her on the All-Star Five.

USA WOMEN’S U19 WORLD CUP TEAM 2023 RESULTS
MADRID, SPAIN • JULY 15-23, 2023
The journey to a third straight FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup gold medal began with an 85-66 USA victory over Mali. Mali scored four of the first six points in the contest but the 4-2 score favoring Mali evaporated in four minutes of game time behind a 12-0 USA run. The U.S. led by at least two possessions for the remainder of period and by 10-plus points from the second quarter to the final buzzer. The team improved to 2-0 with a 100-46 victory over Germany. The trio of Joyce Edwards (12 points), Chloe Kitts (9) and Grace VanSlooten (8) combined for 29 of the USA’s 45 first half points. The U.S. finished with 62 points in the paint in the wire-to-wire win. Edwards led all scorers with 21 points to go with nine rebounds. Kitts recorded the first American double-double of the tournament with 18 points and 13 rebounds. The Americans clinched the top overall spot in Group B with a 112-49 victory over Chinese Taipei. Defense was the story of the game for the U.S. In the first quarter, the team held their opponent to 4-of-21 shooting from the field, including 0-for-9 from 3-point range. Chinese Taipei didn’t connect on their first 3-pointer until midway through the second quarter but at that point the Americans already led by double figures (35-17). The U.S. clinched a quarterfinals spot after defeating Argentina 112-36 in the Round of 16. The team held Argentina to a single point, a free throw, and 0-for-11 shooting which helped build a 27-6 USA lead. Argentina’s basketless streak carried into the second quarter as their next field goal (layup) did not occur until the 2:43 mark. At that point, the U.S. was com- fortably ahead 47-10. In the end, Allie Ziebell led all scorers with 20 points. The team took one step closer to gold with a 121-61 victory over Czech Republic in the quarterfinals. The Americans shot 55.3% (24-45 FG) in the first 20 minutes, including 16 assists on 24 made baskets which helped the team to a 62-25 lead at halftime. While the opponent scored 16 of the first 23 points in the third quarter, the U.S. kept applying offensive pressure and scored 120+ points for the first time during the tournament. Joyce Edwards (23 points) had her second game of 20+ points while Hannah Hidalgo had a points-assists double-double (16 pts, 13 asts). The Americans took a decisive 80-57 semifinals victory over France. After 10 minutes, the contest was tied at 20. In the second, Breya Cunningham gave the U.S. their first lead of the game, 24-22, on a putback. The lead would expand from there as the red, white and blue took a 48-30 lead to half. While France went on to score five quick points to open the third period, it would be the closest they would get for the remainder of the game. In a thrilling championship the U.S. defeated Spain 69-66. The USA controlled the first half after taking their first lead, 16-14, in the opening frame and their largest first-half lead, 26- 16, with 7:00 left in the second quarter. However, Spain responded with a 14-2 run to take the lead 30-28 with 3:00 minutes left. The two teams entered the second half tied at 34and traded baskets throughout the second half as neither squad led by double-digits the rest of the way. By the end, the contest was knotted up at 66 with 28 seconds remaining. With gold on the line, Cotie McMahon spun her way to the hoop for the go-ahead basket before Hannah Hidalgo stole the ball away from Spain the next possession. A free throw plus a defensive stop as the buzzer sounded sealed the win in front of 7,033 hometown fans.
Joyce Edwards and Hannah Hidalgo were named to the event’s All-Star Five.
