Police plead for help on Jessica Godin case
Three years have passed since the body of Jessica Marie Lynn Godin was found in a roadside ditch in the Village of Fournier. The OPP are certain that someone some- where knows something that will help clear up the mystery surrounding her death. The 18-year-old woman died sometime on the evening of Sept. 22, 2011or early morning hours of Sept. 23, the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Around 6 p.m., Sept. 22, she left the house of a friend in Fournier where she had been staying. She was last seen alive that day
between the hours of 7 and 8:15 p.m., still within the village limits. Two days later, her body was found in the mid-afternoon in a ditch along Du Parc Street in Fournier. A post-mortem exam noted injuries to the body consistent with those that would result from a hit-and-run collision. Based on the coroner’s report and tra!c investigators’examination of the site, police believe an east-bound vehicle hit Godin while she was walking along Du Parc Street. The driver then left the scene. During the initial investigation and fol-
low-ups over the past three years, police have done more than 90 interviews and other work assignments to try to identify the person responsible for the fatal acci- dent. The Ontario government and Sun Youth have posted a $100,000 reward for informa- tion that helps arrest and convicts the per- son responsible.
