Girls: Coach Melanie Black guided her team to a fourth straight State Championship. The Lady Patriots were dominate yet again, amassing an Overall meet record 220 points - 58 points ahead of the runner-up. Kennedi Sanders led the way, winning the 100, 200, and 400-meter dashes as well as anchoring the 4X100 relay team which set an Overall record in that event with a time of 49.23. The old mark was set 50 years ago. Riley Han- cock, Annie Toler, and Hannah Potter were standouts on Day 1 during the field events. Kassidy McMillan, Evie Ewing, and Hunter Thompson were among the many other winners. BOYS: The Patriots claimed their third straight State Champi- onship and fifth in the last seven years under head coach John Weaver. MRA established a new Overall meet record with 230 points, 66 points ahead of the second-place team. The Patriots won 12 of the 18 events scored. Rivers Godwin led the way, win- ning the 300-meter hurdles and the 200 and 400 meter dashes. He was also a part of the 400-meters and 1600-meter relay teams which won first place. Josh Hubbard, Street Toler, Harrison Al- exander, Trace Hendon, Will Triplett, and Cam Covey each won individual events along with Godwin. RECORD BREAKING PERFORMANCES
