Square One

This is Where it Starts Square One is committed to ensuring that all children and families have the opportunity to succeed at school, at work, and in life by providing educational programs and family support services.

Early Education and Care

Research has proven that access to high - quality early learning and care is particularly important for children and families who are faced with significant challenges including homelessness, poverty, food insecurity, domestic violence, and other issues. There is a direct correlation between a high - quality early learning experience and long - term educational success, gang prevention, substance avoidance and financial independence.

Square One serves over 500 children each day, ranging in age from newborn to 12 years.

Family Services Square One’s Family Support Service Programs provide parents and children opportunities to meet other families, tap into community resources, learn new parenting skills, and participate in activities and support programs. Programs are open to all families with young children within the community and may include parent - child activities, playgroups, social events, and drop - in hours. Programs include:
