The Institute of Abilities is an employment agency that focuses on the job seekers and prepare them to enter the workforce. We use novel and tailored strategies to assist participants in achieving their career goals Path to the future (For High School Students): We offer a 5 weekend program (Offered in May and in November) to help them develop a career plan, which will include possible trainings and jobs that would help them build a solid foundation for their future. The program includes: creating a resume/ CV, cover letters, assistance with job or academic applications, developing reference letters, workshops in networking, social media marketing, interviewing skills, public speaking, work ethic, financial literacy, personal appearance, and professional business etiquette. At the end of the program the participant will have a clear vision of their future with actual goals and a plan to achieve them. The program will conclude with a weekend retreat. CIES Program (This is a job readiness program tailored for individuals with disabilities): This program is offered to individuals with disabilities who wish to be a part of the competitive workforce. During this program the participants will be assessed and an employment plan will be developed. Some participants will undergo a job - readiness program which will include: resume building, assistance with job applications and personality tests, developing reference letters, ADA Laws, workshops in networking, social media marketing, interviewing skills, interview attire and mock interviews, public speaking, work ethic, discrimination in the workplace, Stress Management, benefits planning and financial literacy, personal appearance and hygiene, and professional business etiquette. The program incorporates the principle of “Client Informed Choice”, which focuses in educating the participants so that they can make the best decisions. The CIES Program will assist the job ready individuals pursue the employment goals they have set up. We will have a job developer work individually with each participant to help place them in a competitive job that will increase the participant’s self - esteem, income, and sense of community inclusion. The services offered to participants of the CIES Program are tailored and individualized to the client’s needs.
