Their sonHarrison,whowas ten at the time, caught windof the newboat anddidhis researchonline, soondiscovering the boat was availablewith an aft cabin.Hans says:“On theway to school he said tome,‘Dad, twowords: aft cabin.’”Opting for the extra cabinhas paidoff and the four of themhave spent many happynights onboard, including aweek away on Catalina Island. “TheAxopar is like noother boat I have ever driven,”Hans continues.“The bowdoes not rise and you lookdown and realise you are doing twice the speed you thought youwere. When I first saw the boat I assumed it wouldbe $500,000but in reality it’s half of that.” Whether it’s a 160-mile round trip towatch a sailing regatta or a blast to the local cove for a paddle board, the 37 is the Stroms’perfect companion.
Axopar dealer, Jeff Brown,went past in a 37 and their interest was piqued.Before long theywere on sea trial withLiza,whowasn’t soldon the idea of a newboat, behind the wheel and loving everyminute.“Now that is a boat we canbuy,”were herwords.
