Autolock AV4 End User Testing
At Winkhaus UK, we know the best way to show innovation is to let the results speak for themselves. That’s why we developed a complete series of short films following extensive research into how autoLock AV4 performs in the real world. The films feature honest accounts from homeowners, landlords and individuals of all ages who faced issues from thermal expansion. They now benefit from a locking system that works effortlessly, even when conditions change. These films are more than just testimonials. They are tools created for fabricators and installers to use when explaining the value of choosing the right locking solution. Here’s why AV4 stands out • Requires up to 70% less force to operate than alternative locks • Resolves common problems caused by thermal expansion • Improves the overall customer experience by reducing callbacks and complaints
All AV4 films and support assets are now available on the Winkhaus Portal, helping you build trust and clarity in every customer conversation. Visit www.winkhaus.co.uk or email enquiries@winkhaus.co.uk for more details We’re also proud to share that we’ve been recognised as a 2025 National Fenestration Awards finalist in six categories including Best Use of Video for this very campaign Thank you to our contributors and to everyone who continues to support innovation in our industry

Made For Trade Offers Lifeline Amid Growing Industry Instability
As supplier collapses increase across the UK fenestration sector, Made For Trade reaffirms its position as the reliable constant for aluminium glazed products, service, and supply. The UK fenestration industry continues to navigate one of its most turbulent periods. With an alarming rise in pre-packs, liquidations, and supplier failures, many trade professionals are facing unexpected project delays, broken supply chains, and growing uncertainty. At a time when trust in the market is being tested, Made For Trade (MFT) stands firm, offering an unshakable commitment to quality, stability, and long-term partnership. “The UK fenestration industry is currently facing significant challenges, with well-established and once household names collapsing at an alarming rate,” said Bradley Gaunt, Managing Director at Made For Trade. “Economic pressures, rising material costs, shifting consumer demand, and post-pandemic operational strain have created a volatile environment where even the most recognisable brands are facing daily challenges to compete and perform. This instability has left many installers exposed to disruption, uncertainty, and loss of supply chains they once relied upon. In contrast, Made For Trade stands as a beacon of reliability. With over 40 years of trading history and a flawless record, having never gone bust or restructured, we have weathered industry storms and emerged stronger each time.
Our Korniche-branded products have become synonymous with innovation, quality, and service excellence, and are backed by a business model built on resilience and long-term commitment to our customers. As the industry reshapes and consolidates, it has never been more important to align with a partner that offers not just market- leading products but stability, continuity, and trust. Made For Trade is that partner: - tried, tested, and here for the long term” Backed by its flagship Korniche Roof Lantern and Bifold Door, MFT continues to lead the trade sector in both product design and customer service. Installers benefit from: • Multi-award-winning products, engineered for performance and ease of installation • Fair, consistent pricing • Free direct-to-site delivery, streamlining logistics and reducing project disruption • KwikQuote, a proprietary instant quoting platform for effortless onboarding and fast ordering • Dedicated UK-based support from people who understand the trade In line with its latest “lifebuoy” campaign, MFT is calling on installers, builders and fabricators affected by the ripples from supplier uncertainty to reach out and regain control with a partner that has the history, reputation, and strength to weather the storms.

Sheerline Now Available On NBS Source Platform
Sheerline’s award-winning products can now be viewed on NBS Source. The purpose of the specialist platform is two-fold; first, to enable specifiers to confidently select the best products for their projects based on specific requirements such as sustainability, or a particular building material such as aluminium. Second, it provides a unique opportunity for manufacturers to showcase their products alongside the certifications and literature most important to them. One of the features available allows specifiers, architects, designers, and engineers to easily find and compare products side- by-side, ensuring they choose the best fit for their project requirements. To showcase how broad its award-winning product range is, Sheerline has added everything from the increasingly popular Prestige Tilt & Turn Windows to the Classic Heritage Door, and the S1 Roof Lantern. It has illustrated its versatility by including its arched frame service and Prestige Reverse Butt Joint, which won best Technical Innovation at the GGP Installer Awards 2025. For Sheerline, joining NBS Source was a natural progression after launching its Specification Guide at the end of 2024. These actions collectively further the organisation’s commitment to supporting fabricators to win more commercial work. It also reflects the increase in demand for support for commercial projects. One example in close proximity to Sheerline’s
HQ is the Pepper Pots building in Derby, which has undergone a significant renovation. Every apartment surrounding the building has been fitted with Sheerline’s Prestige Tilt & Turn windows in collaboration with BSW Window Solutions. New build projects and renovations are all set to increase. Particularly if the government is to meet – or even get close to – its self-imposed housing targets. The need for easy access to compliant products that offer a stylish, yet practical solution will grow exponentially over the coming years. Dave Wigley, Sheerline’s Head of Marketing, said: “As a data-driven company, we understand the need for specifiers to be able to access reliable data quickly, so they can make informed decisions when looking for products.” “Having a profile on NBS Source will make it easier than ever for specifiers to find everything they need to know about Sheerline – from our award- winning products to industry accreditations, and technical data. This aligns with our ethos of making life easier for our partners,” he added. Sheerline’s NBS profile can be viewed here: source.thenbs.com/manufacturer/sheerline/ cMMe3YfQLyTbydJbe99SYD/overview Alternatively, to contact the team or request your free copy of Sheerline’s Specification Guide, please email the team on info@sheerline.com or call 01332 978 000.

Sheerline Reveals Stunning Installation Of The Month Winner
A stunning transformation in the sought-after area of March, Cambridgeshire, has been revealed as the winning entry for Sheerline’s Installation of the Month competition for April. It showcases the collaborative efforts of installers Choice Windows and fabricators Direct Roofing Systems. Sheerline’s sleek aluminium profile was selected because it is in keeping with the traditional style of the area while providing the thoroughly modern benefits of aluminium. This includes Sheerline’s straight out-of-the-box thermal efficiency and high- performance U-values, super slim sightlines, and exceptional security. As part of the project, three Sheerline Prestige Bi-folds and a fantastic end gable were installed to flood the space with natural light. The homeowners opted for an increasingly popular colour
combination of Agate Grey (RAL 7038) outside with Pure White (RAL 9010) inside. Being a south-facing property and having previously had issues with the curtains and furniture being bleached by the abundance of natural light, Choice Windows made two recommendations to the homeowner to help them actively manage their solar gains and provide protection against ultraviolet (UV) rays. The first suggestion was to install solar control glass, and the second was to add integral blinds. Choice Windows prides itself on providing a consultation-style service to help homeowners navigate the myriad of options when choosing new windows and doors. Lee Kaminski, Choice Windows Owner, commented: “I specified Sheerline for this project because I

like the beading system – you fit it and you don’t have to revisit it again, you don’t need to adjust anything. It’s just a really nice, neat system that feels good quality.” “Direct Roofing Systems are great – their delivery and service is absolutely fantastic, everything is really well packaged, and the delivery drivers are great too,” he added. Jimmy Cardno, Direct Roofing Systems Managing Director, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have
played a part in this stunning project. The Agate Grey on White colour scheme is absolutely beautiful, really sophisticated and enhances this home perfectly and the shaped frame adds that wow factor! We have a great relationship with Choice Windows and look forward to working with them on future projects.” To specify Sheerline for your next project, visit the website here: www.sheerline.com, contact the team on 01332 978 000, or email info@sheerline.com.

installation video, ‘How to install the SLINOVA – the slimline sliding door,’ has been praised for its clarity and practical value, while the broader campaign has highlighted SLINOVA’s sleek design and ease of installation. The campaign and video have been instrumental to the product’s strong sales performance. Since its UK launch last year, SLINOVA has become one of REHAU’s most successful product introductions, with over 5,000 doors fabricated and more than 60 fabricators now offering the system. Alongside SLINOVA’s leading product performance credentials, its minimalist aesthetic, wide range of colour combinations, and compatibility with REHAU’s TOTAL70 and Rio ranges have made it a favourite among homeowners, commercial developers and fenestration professionals alike. Another standout is ARTEVO, REHAU’s most advanced window system to date, which has been shortlisted for New Product of the Year. ARTEVO offers floor-to- ceiling heights up to 2.6 metres, exceptional thermal and acoustic performance, and up to 75% recycled content in its profiles. Additionally, REHAU has been nominated for Timber Alternative Company of the Year through its popular Rio Flush Fit range. With a 14% increase in sash sales and a 70% rise in door demand in 2024, Rio continues to resonate with customers seeking the charm of traditional timber without compromising on performance. Its authentic-looking appearance, wide range of finishes, and ease of manufacture and fitting
has made it a go-to solution for both residential and commercial projects. Systems Built for the Future REHAU’s commitment to the circular economy has earned it a nomination for Recycling Company of the Year. Having previously won Timber Alternative Company of the Year multiple times, The Residence Collection is once again a finalist in this prestigious category. This is just the latest good news announcement on the back of the system being recognised with a coveted King’s Award for Innovation 2025. This year’s awards look to be the most competitive yet, with Sheerline nominated in several sought-after categories. This includes the title of Aluminium Systems Company of the Year, which Sheerline was thrilled to receive last year, particularly as 12 other well-known systems houses were in the running for the award. This year it will be even more hotly contested with 14 systems houses shortlisted. Sheerline has been nominated in a broad range of categories covering its products, services, and people reflecting its continued impact within the industry. Following overwhelmingly positive industry feedback during demonstrations at FIT Show 2025, the system will soon be rolled out to UK customers – with one major fabricator signed up to install the platform in the summer, and several in discussions to adopt the technology to follow. And one comment has been heard on repeat: “No one else is doing this.” Stuga’s Technical Director Gareth Green says the system stands apart from generic dashboards by being “purpose-built for fenestration, simple to use, and capable of showing exactly where efficiency gains can be made.” The launch includes two complementary platforms: StugaConnect – a customer portal that gives users full access to machine-specific documentation, service history, order tracking and maintenance schedules for their Stuga and Stürtz equipment. StürtzCloud – a UK-first and fenestration-centric live production dashboard. It captures machine-level data in real time, tracking downtime, fault trends and throughput against targets – all displayed clearly through an intuitive visual interface. “We’re giving fabricators a clear line of sight to what’s holding back performance,” Gareth explains. “If a recurring fault is costing you an hour of output every day, the system flags it immediately. That’s a
tangible gain that can be acted on right away.” Unlike traditional dashboards, StürtzCloud is tailored specifically to window and door production lines. It factors in shift patterns, break times and expected cycle times, making it easier for fabricators to track Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) without specialist support. The system is designed to be accessible for all users – from production managers to line operators – and doesn’t require in-house IT teams to configure or manage. “There are other systems out there, but most are overly complex or not designed for this industry,” Gareth adds. “This is ready-made for fabricators. It’s fast to implement, easy to understand and delivers immediate operational value.” Beyond helping individual businesses, aggregated data from across the network will also support Stuga and Stürtz in refining machine design and aftersales support based on real-world performance. “It’s not just about reducing downtime – it’s about raising the standard of machinery performance across the entire industry,” Gareth says. For more information or to request a demonstration, visit www.stuga.co.uk or call 01493 742 348. Stuga Machinery is a finalist in the 2025 National Fenestration Awards for Machinery Company of the Year. Voting is now open at: www.fenestrationawards.co.uk/nfa25/

Meeting Increased Advancements In Performance, Compliance And Sustainability In Warm Edge Technology
At Technoform, we don’t just deliver warm edge solutions—we help shape the future of high-performance glazing. As a global leader in hybrid spacer bar technology, we support IGU manufacturers, fabricators and facade engineers across the UK and Ireland with precision- engineered products that meet the demands of energy efficiency, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility. Our SP14 warm edge spacer is a standout solution—proven in both thermal and safety- critical applications. It has passed EN 1364 fire resistance testing and is widely used in fire- rated glazing systems. Fully compliant with the Building Safety Act, Approved Document Part B, and aligned with the Future Homes Standard and all elements of building regulation’s part L for thermal performance. SP14 gives system houses and fabricators confidence in meeting today’s stringent specifications as well as tomorrows passive house design. We have also updated and expanded our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)—now available via the INIES database—so you can specify with sustainability certainty. Based on EN 15804+A2 and EN 15804+A2/CN, our EPDs confirm that Technoform spacers deliver the best CO₂ performance in the market: ✅ Up to 32% lower CO₂ emissions compared to other hybrid warm edge spacers ✅ Up to 75% less CO₂ than aluminium spacers
✅ EPDs verified by a third party—ideal for supporting BREEAM, LEED, and DGNB certification ✅ Designed for long-term relevance and planning security Whether you’re fabricating heritage sash windows or modern triple glazing, our warm edge solutions help reduce U-values, improve condensation resistance, and support the industry’s shift toward net zero. In addition, all parts of the supply chain can have confidence in the fire-resistant performance when designed into a fire glass system. With a dedicated on-site engineer based in the UK, we provide hands-on support to optimise integration, troubleshoot issues, and ensure your production line runs smoothly, increased productivity and improves yield. Backed by our UK-based commercial team, you’ll benefit from hands-on technical support, expert advice, and fast, reliable supply, including next-day delivery. Local Business Achieves National Recognition
Local window company, The Window Hub, has been singled out as one of the UK’s top window installation companies, receiving personal recognition from the CEO of industry’s professional body. With a head office in Staple Hill in Bristol, The Window Hub is proud to display its professional accreditations, including its membership of FENSA, which guarantees homeowners that the windows and doors the company fits meet the latest standards and Building Regulations. Managing director and owner Danny Robb recently received a personal note from the chairman of the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF), which owns FENSA, alerting him that his company is now in the top 20 of all FENSA-registered window installation businesses in the UK. “Given the market conditions we are facing, in a mature market, I am sure you and the team are really proud of your achievement,” GGF CEO John Agnew
said. “Whatever your secret is tell nobody as they will all want to cash in on it!” The locally focused business has also shortlisted four times in the popular trade awards – the NFAs – with four members of staff being singled out for their professionalism. Young person Brad Barber, business development manager Ozgar Dagtekin, office manager Adam Smith, and Danny Robb himself are all in the running for awards, which are hand- picked by their peers. Danny Robb launched the Window Hub during lockdown in 2020 because he wanted to create a business that was “built on quality rather than greed”. Today, The Window Hub has offices, showrooms and installation depots across the South West, selling the latest window and door designs, which offer the very best security and warmth. “The last five years have been an absolute whirlwind,” Danny said. “But the whole team here
