A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 10
This week has been the first week of the Year 10 exams. The students should feel very proud of themselves, as they have shown real resilience and a determination to do well. It has been wonderful to see many students making the most of homework club after school in the zone, asking the staff there for help and support. A reminder that homework club is on everyday until 4 where there are designation support staff specifically for KS4 who can offer help. Students also had two exams in the sports hall this week, helping them to get used to how it will be in their mock exams next week. The seat positions are on the tutor time google classroom. Year 10 should look at this to work out which row they are sat in and the number to make it easier on the day to find their seat. This week we had many Year 10 students representing the school at Borough sports. They were excellent and should feel very proud of themselves for representing the school in such a positive light. Special mention goes to Lara Kinsella as well who ran in an official 200 metres race at the U17 in Aldershot last Saturday. She did incredibly well with a fantastic time of 28.5 and is going from strength to strength in regards to her sporting achievements. Well done! We always love to hear what students are doing outside of school, so please email KS4 hub (details below) if you want us to be aware of any activities that your child is currently partaking in. Next week will be the last week of the Year 10 exams. If students are not doing an exam, they should be in their usual lessons revising. The zone is only to be used by students with specific SEND needs, all other students should revise in lessons with the subject specialist. Thank you and have a lovely weekend!

BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘King of Nothing’ by Nathanael Lessore
I really really really enjoyed this book! I specifically enjoyed how realistic and actually quite intense it was towards the end. The characters are all written so well. For example I really like how you can tell Anton is not as bad as Kehinde from the start when he kind of defended Mathew when Kehinde was about to give him a hard time. The scene where Mathew and Anton are at a sleepover and they’re talking about his nan made me cry! It was just so wholesome and the boys’ unexpected friendship is such a lovely part of the book. I will definitely suggest this book to people in the future!
