QC PD Apprentice

SGS Quay Pharma is a contract pharmaceutical development and manufacturing company.

As an apprentice within the QC or Development department the successful applicant will experience a wide range of roles within the following areas: pharmaceutical development, project introduction, project operations, lifecycle and compliance. You will be working under Good Manufacturing Practice, and you will be supervised until you gain sufficient experience for independent work.

QC Pharmaceutical Development Apprentice

QC PD Apprentice

Duties To conduct laboratory based analytical testing of raw materials, formulation, in -process, finished product and stability samples, across multiple projects. To perform formulation activities such as physical characterisation of API, blending,

To develop methods for a variety of analytical methods. Take individual responsibility and undergo training to enable independent work. Ensure that their testing, procedures and required documentation, is performed carefully and accurately to eliminate errors with a “Right First Time” attitude. Ensure laboratory cleanliness and Health and Safety standards are maintained. Ensure consumable stocks are maintained to ensure timelines are adhered to, and to order consumables when required.

Maintenance Apprentice

As an apprentice within the Production Department the successful applicant will gain experience in the manufacture and process development of different drug products and dosage forms. You will be working under Good Manufacturing Practice, and you will be supervised until you gain sufficient experience for independent work.

Maintenance Apprentice

Duties

Equipment maintenance Completion of maintenance/calibration protocols Housekeeping Arranging for external calibrations to be carried out and the dispatch of equipment Performance of IQ/OQ for new equipment where required Production of risk and COSHH assessments for activities undertaken within the Facilities Team

Downloading of data loggers and weekly monitoring of magnehelic readings in the GMP/cage areas Waste disposal of Pharma waste, and solvent waste Ensuring sufficient stock levels of consumables and appropriate PPE are kept Working to GMP requirements at all times Accurately following set procedures and batch documentation Working in a Health & Safety conscious manner following safe systems of work.

Qualifications 5 GCSE’s at grade C/ grade 4 or above. Must include Mathematics and English Language

Production Apprentice

.As an apprentice within in the Engineering department the successful applicant will experience a wide range of roles within the company. You will be working under Good Manufacturing practice, and you will be supervised until you gain sufficient experience for independent work.

Production Apprentice

Production Apprentice

Duties Project specific manufacturing activities

Basic reading / recording operations. Dispensing and sampling of materials (liquids, solids, powders, semi-solids). Material blending. Manual and automated capsule filling. Capsule and tablet coating processes. Tablet manufacture. Site services Basic QC functions (pH, hardness testing etc). GMP cleaning processes and basic understanding of microbiology .

including room set-up, production processes, packing processes, room decontamination. I have worked in the science industry science since I was 18 and my experience includes working in the oils and fats, laundry, personal products and now the pharmaceutical industries. I specialise in analytical chemistry including wet chemical methods and separation science. In addition to this industrial experience, I have worked as a lecturer at an FE college teaching science but specialising in chemistry and physics. During this college experience I have helped students develop their science skills and go on to successful scientific careers in a range of industries.
