FINANCIAL FREEDOM
BE THE CHAMPION In order for your quest for financial free- dom to be successful, there’s something you’ve got to embrace – your worthiness. You need to know that you are worthy of your greatest desires.
True wealth isn’t about accumulating posses- sions or getting giant paychecks. True wealth – happiness – comes from the opportunities and time with your loved ones that money can provide. Money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy you the freedom to live life on your own terms, and what could make you richer than that?
MELALEUCA can help you cultivate an additional stream of income, which can help you get on top of your debts and work toward financial freedom. When you’re financially free, each dollar goes so much further. But the real benefit is having the time and flexibility to do what matters most to you.
If you think you don’t have a problem with how you value yourself, think about your paycheck for a moment. Where does the money go? It goes to the mortgage and the car payment. It goes to Visa and Sallie Mae. It goes to 20% compound interest rates. How much of it goes to you? Do you think that’s fair? You might think that’s not fair, but if you’re making minimum payments without an aggressive plan to get out of debt, then something deep inside approves of this status quo. How you spend your paycheck is aligned with your internal sense of worth. Your intel- ligence. Your passion. Your skills. The time you spend battling traffic five days a week. The hours you miss with your family. Don’t take all that and give it to a jailer. Don’t say, “I am not worth this much. I better only keep half and throw the rest away on debts and interest.” You are worth every penny of your paycheck. You’re worth so much more than even that. Embrace your worth and invest in yourself. Melaleuca can accelerate the tedious process of paying off debt. Grow your business to grow your income stream. Invest in yourself by attending Convention. Build up your skills. Work as hard for yourself as you do for your boss. Squash the status quo. A life of wealth is waiting for you. You don’t need to be a millionaire to experience it.
The fear of success lurks in our subconscious and sabotages our forward momentum. As counterintuitive as it sounds, we fear change. We’d rather hang on to a struggle we are familiar with than chance encountering a new problem. We fear that people will treat us differently. The darkest fear is this: that we will succeed. Because then we’d have to admit that we have always had the power to succeed. We’d have to face the reality that our failure to change before led to years of suffering. The idea of that knowledge is just too terrifying. The fear of success takes root and aims to prove that we are powerless. It convinces you that your heart’s desires are just castles in the air. It accuses you of ris- ing above your station. It makes you feel guilty for your gains, especially when you see others’ struggles. It maintains that if you were strong enough, smart enough, and good enough, you wouldn’t be in this mess. The fear of success tells you that you are where you ought to be. It sells you the biggest lie of all – that you’re not worthy of success. Do not tolerate thoughts like this for a second. Champion your own value! When that knowledge sinks in bone deep, your forward momentum will accelerate.
“Our family went on a cruise to celebrate my daughter graduating high school. Before I started building a Melaleuca business, I would have had to charge the vacation to my credit card and try to figure out a way to pay it off later. But this time I paid for it with cash because of the time and effort I’ve put into building my business. When we got to Cozumel, the kids wanted to go swim with dolphins. Normally I would have been like, ‘Oh no, that’s too expensive. Let’s just go walk around.’ But this time I said, ‘Yeah, we’ve earned this. Let’s go swim with dolphins!’”* – TAMMY GUILLORY SENIOR DIRECTOR 3
“I worked in real estate and mortgage banking for a long time, but then the housing market crashed. I went from making a six-figure income to basically paying to go to work. At the same time, our oldest son was getting ready to go to college and we needed another stream of income. My husband Paul says he would have been happy if I’d been able to bring in an extra $100 a month. By following the Seven Critical Activities and working diligently over the years, I made enough to be able to pay cash for our son’s entire college education.”* – ANGIE GANGE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 3 “Five years ago I was newly divorced and had two kids in college. The career I’d put my heart and soul into for 20 years was hit by the economy, and I was literally lying awake at night wondering how I was going to pay my bills. Thankfully, my life now is completely different. I have an amazing husband who I love. I have a reliable income with Melaleuca because I committed to work hard and smart and listen to my coaches. I am now debt-free other than my mortgage. My kids live on the East Coast and we live in the West, but I have the income and flexibility to be there for birthdays and holidays or have them here with us. I have so much freedom and peace of mind.”* – BONNIE WRIGHT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 9
