We continued to excel in school competitions and found success in a number of areas of extra-curricular school life. Tishe produced another fine performance in House Drama, we won the Junior Tug of War, as well as Sports Day. One clear highlight was Tega Gbagi breaking two school records and revealing that he has become a nationally recognised long jumper. Special mentions for effort in these competitions should also go to Mark Xu, for long distance victory, as well as Ehi Aikhomu, for his powerful running.
HEAD OF HOUSE REPORT BY TISHE LANIYAN
As the Head of Tower, the Boarding House that became my second home, I can confidently say that being in this position has provided me with unforgettable experiences. The House competitions have been some of the most thrilling moments of my life. House Singing, where we gathered as a tight-knit community to showcase our musical talents and gymnastic abilities. The camaraderie that was fostered during these rehearsals and performances created bonds that would last a lifetime. Sports Day was a whirlwind of exhilaration, as members of Tower showcased their athleticism and determination. Cheering on our fellow housemates, we felt a sense of unity and pride that transcended individual victories. There was a spirit of healthy competition in the
where we transformed into actors, bringing characters to life on stage. The countless hours of rehearsing, the shared laughter, and the sense of achievement when the curtains finally closed made it all worthwhile. Tower became a stage where our talents shone, and the applause from our fellow friends echoed in our hearts, reminding us of the bond we had forged. Being the Head of Tower and being a part of these Inter- House competitions has been an absolute privilege. These events not only brought us together as a House,
They made all the necessary sacrifices to bring the best out of the younger boys and were exceptional motivators. They knew when to demand more, or when to offer comfort and support. When it came to duties, they wouldn’t shirk anything (just like when they played rugby!). It
I have singled out the leadership for praise in
this report because the Tower Prefects 22-23 perfectly illustrate what is so special about boarding at St Lawrence College. Across a team of four boys (all selected as being the best for their positions), we had four nationalities represented. We had three boys who had boarded together for years and become close friends, with another
was my privilege to work with them and as I have previously stated, they have set an unbelievable high standard for Jonah Schreiber and the others to follow. Thank you, and well done, to Tishe Laniyan, Jonah Bagambe, Miraj Rana, and Arthur Casado.
air and an infectious sense of energy which made it an unforgettable day filled with laughter and memories. As well as my close friends Tega Gbagi breaking two school records on the day, it felt like an incredible conclusion to the Sports Day and made the day even better. One of the highlights of the Inter-House competitions was the Tug of War. Tower, known for our strength and tenacity, fought with all our might, united by a common goal. The cheers and chants that echoed across the field fuelled our determination, as we tugged refusing to give an inch. It was in those moments that we truly understood the power of teamwork and the unwavering support we had for one another. And let’s not forget the House plays,
but they also connected us with the entire boarding community. They taught us the value of teamwork, resilience, and the power of unity. The laughter, the adrenaline, and the friendships that bloomed in these moments are treasures that I will carry with me long after my time in as Head of Tower House. It is through these experiences that we truly embraced the spirit of camaraderie and made memories that will forever be etched in my memories of St Lawrence College.
We conclude another fantastic year of growth
in Tower and we look forward to seeing new leaders develop. No doubt, they will be inspired by all that has come before them.
complementing the team, by bringing fresh enthusiasm of someone who had boarded for only one year. All four played in the rugby first team (one of them making England South East selection), as well as leading the House in all creative events.
