Adam Izzard Director of Sport
Jeremy Bowyer Senior School Director of Music
Having been educated at the Royal Hospital School in Suffolk, rugby was always going to play a large part in Adam’s upbringing and continued to play a huge role in the development of rugby at St Lawrence College. Joining the school in September 2010, along with his wife Andrea and their two sons Joshua and Thomas, Adam took on the role of Director of Sport and Head of Rugby. During Adam’s thirteen years at St Lawrence College there were many rugby highlights including reaching the U15 NatWest Vase Quarter Final in 2016 and the U15 National Vase Semi Final in 2019. Naturally this highlights the improvements made under his leadership and it didn’t stop there. During his time as Director of Sport we had National success in hockey, winning the U13 Nationals in 2017, U18 boys indoor hockey Nationals in 2018, U16 boys indoor hockey Nationals in 2020 and the U18 girls Tier 2 Nationals in 2020. During his time at the school Adam also taught Physical Education and was part of the tutor team in Deacon House. In his spare time, he was also part of the U18 Kent rugby coaching team for a number of years. Adams leaves us to become a Housemaster and Head of Rugby at Stonar School near Bath where he will continue to have success no doubt. Thank you Adam for all the support and goodwill you have shown the College over the years. Wishing you much joy and happiness as you begin a new chapter in your life.
Jeremy joined us as Director of Music in 2018. Although he was known for exceptional organ skills and experience in sacred music, he encouraged a diverse range of musical performance at the College with events such as Cabaret Evening featuring everything from musicals to Kid Cudi. Alongside concerts, Folk Night and Chapel services, he also played a key role as Musical Director for many school productions, including unforgettable performances of School of Rock and Grease. The Covid-19 lockdowns were particularly challenging for those in the arts, but Jeremy found new ways to bring the remote community together through music. One such innovation was the Community Choir which continues to bring together staff, parents and friends of the College. In addition to his work in the Music Department, Jeremy was also a much-valued tutor in Kirby House. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
