Universal Design for Learning/Highly Effective Practices
Provide professional development specific to differentiating instruction and the use of UDL practices, including questioning and discussion techniques.
Provide professional development specific to literacy instructional practices to include phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and writing.
Structured Literacy
Provide professional learning experiences specifically in the content areas to include science and social studies as well as other content areas to improve instructional design and lesson development and to increase student engagement.
Content Knowledge
Students will engage in grade level thinking tasks, that reflect the Standards of Mathematical Practice, and explain their reasoning, respectfully critique others' solutions, and defend their thought processes in group discussions.
Mathematical Thinking
Students will construct written responses to math problems clearly communicating their reasoning and justifying their solutions.

GASD will develop a "Portrait of a GA teacher" and engage in regular instructional rounds that provide supported time for peer observations, reflections, and feedback.
