JOY FUNDS IN ACTION INDIANA UNDOCUMENTED YOUTH ALLIANCE MAY DAY ART SHOW “UNSTOPPABLE JOY”

Art as Movement Building On May Day Indiana Undocumented Youth Alliance invited the community into a different kind of resistance through an art show rooted in joy, creativity, and collective care. Titled Unstoppable Joy, the exhibition centered artists as movement partners, with contributors donating original works to be sold in support of the organization’s long- term capacity. Crowd-Funding Community Capacity The crowd sourced fundraiser was intentionally designed to do more than cover event costs. Proceeds were directed toward funding the salary of a new staff member, strengthening IUYA’s ability to sustain and expand their organizing work across Indiana. Each piece sold represented both artistic expression and a tangible investment in the people powering the movement. Joy and Justice Unstoppable Joy reflected a belief that joy is not separate from justice. It is a source of fuel. Through shared creativity and shared responsibility, the night affirmed that art can be a pathway to stability, dignity, and continued advocacy led by those closest to the work.
