SUMMER TEATIME CONCERT On Thursday 25 May our young instrumentalists treated their parents to a wonderful teatime concert. Our guitarists were first to take the stage, led by Samuel S. who performed his piece ‘Mild Thing’ before Samuel G. and Sullivan took over to play ‘Soldier’s March’ with a wonderful flourish to close their duet. A series of solos then followed, with each performer beautifully announcing their piece beforehand. Performances by our younger pianists included Pippa with her wonderful solo ‘Morning Sunbeam’, Felix with ‘Drunken Sailor’, and Erin with a strong rendition of ‘Make Way for the King!’ Other highlights included Niamh with her Harp solo ‘Cuckoo’, Lizzie’s Flute solo ‘Snail Trails’ and Norah’s ‘Two at Twilight’ flute solo. Performances by our older pianists included Daniel Sowunmi with ‘T Rex Hungry’ and Jasper Gordon with ‘Forty Winks’. With our orchestra and string
group bringing the concert to a rousing end, all our pupils did themselves proud performing magnificently! My thanks to our guitar tutor Mr Coney and our violin and piano tutor Mrs Evans who supported both on the day and in the lead up and to Mrs Faux Bowyer, Miss Wood, Miss Young, Mr Mason, Mr Golding, and Miss Grimsdale who all helped prepare pupils for the concert. Finally, my thanks go out to all the parents who were able to come and watch which meant so much to the children and to all our parents for their unstinting support of their children’s learning – seeing the joy on their faces on completion of their performance was reward in itself!
