Over the last few years, there has not been a venue for the Thanet Schools swimming gala. With the Hartsdown pool out of action, we decided to host a small gala to give our swimmers an opportunity to participate in some competitive swimming. On Monday 12 June, St Faith’s came over for a morning of swimming. It was a huge success which saw many of our pupils really put themselves out there against some high-level swimmers. The gala was held at the Junior School pool. We were able to run a full programme of races, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and even butterfly. The competition was fierce, but everyone had a great time. There were some outstanding performances, with many personal bests being set. SWIMMING GALA
The atmosphere was very supportive, and there was a lot of cheering from the sides and the spectators on the playground. At the end of the gala, we held a presentation ceremony to award medals to the winners.
PRE-PREP VISIT TO WINGHAM WILDLIFE PARK We had a beautiful, sunny day for the Pre-Prep summer trip to Wingham Wildlife Park, which was a ‘roaring’ success. The children enjoyed exploring the park and seeing all the wonderful wildlife and had a great time in the playground. Once again, we are so very proud of all our children in Pre-Prep, another brilliant trip rounded off with some snoozing on the coach ride back to school and a well-deserved ice lolly to cool off when we got back.
