YEAR 6 TRIP TO BETTESHANGER Having only been back at school for one week, Year 6 excitedly set off on their first trip of the year to the ‘Boonies’ army-style assault course at Betteshanger. Here they had the opportunity to try thirty different obstacles, such as climbing walls, rope swings and balance
beams suspended above water. During the assault course, the Year 6 pupils were able to demonstrate and develop a range of skills, including their balance, agility, strength, stamina and ability to tackle heights! Most importantly, they were tested on their teamwork. Mr Brown, Mrs Mackman and Mrs Lasslett couldn’t have felt prouder as every member of Year 6 worked effectively as a team, encouraging and helping one another to complete the different challenges.
YEAR 1 & 2 TRIP TO WALMER CASTLE Year 1 and Year 2 embarked on a trip to Walmer Castle in early September. Focusing primarily on listening to our rules to ensure we kept safe, the children were given the chance to explore the beautiful castle grounds, follow the nature trails and learn about the castle itself. We looked out for rules in the castle grounds and
discussed triangular signs. The children thought carefully about how the rules enabled us to avoid danger as well as helping us to keep precious historical artefacts safe.
