The number of patients presenting with Knee Osteoarthritis is increasing, resulting in lengthy waiting times for surgery and an increased focus on non-surgical management ₄. Designed to reduce the pressure through the affected compartment of the knee, offloader braces are available in various designs and concepts. Considered a cost-effective option for managing the symptoms of Knee OA, offloaders play a key role in helping patients. Interestingly, the NICE guidelines suggest that patients shouldn’t actually be provided with a device such as a brace, unless they meet the following criteria: • There is joint instability or abnormal loading AND • Therapeutic exercise is unsuitable or ineffective without the aid of a device, AND • The addition of a device is likely to improve movement and function
