Un montant de 3000 $ a été remis à la Maison de la famille de Clarence-Rockland pour sa campagne d’habits de neige. La somme a été récoltée grâce à la vente des calendriers des pompiers. Ci-dessus, la conceptrice du calendrier, JoanneMackell ainsi que le président de l’Association des pompiers de Clarence-Rockland,
Patrick Claveau, remettent le chèque à Brigitte Williams, superviseure du programme Fiers de nos enfants/ Maisons de la famille (au centre). Ils sont en compagnie des pompiers qui ont posé pour le projet. Ainsi, 500 calendriers ont été imprimés et ont pu servir à cette cause. Il en reste toutefois quelques-uns, si vous désirez vous en procurer.

Les élèves de la 5e année de l’École élémentaire catholique Du Rosaire travaillent sur un projet pour faire connaître leur école. On leur a confié la responsabilité demonter une présentation numérique, combinant leurs habiletés avec les nouvelles technologies et plusieurs compétences acquises en salle de classe. « Qui de mieux pour présenter l’école que les élèves eux-mêmes », a fait valoir la directrice de l’établissement, Lyne Levac. Ci-dessus, trois de ces élèves, Julien Pilon, Caleb Piché et Antoine Johnson Gareau. Heart to Heart help for school Rockland Public School (RPS) is fundraising for school improvement projects to benefit the students. The goal is to raise $10,000 and Heart-to-Heart Helping Our Communities is going to lend a hand with the fundraising. Christine Henley, organizer of the local home business and craft trade show program, has scheduled an event for May 9 at the Club Powers building on Giroux Street in Rockland. The one- dollar entry fee for patrons plus proceeds from vendor table spaces sold, a barbecue concession and other activities during the event, will go towards the RPS fund. – Gregg Chamberlain Arts council preps for first agm Prescott-Russell’s arts scene has its first overall progress report in May when le Conseil des arts Prescott-Russell Arts Council (CAPRAC) holds its first annual general meeting since its inauguration in March 2014. The May 7 event is at the Station 4 Saisons conference centre at 1422 Lavigne Street in Hammond. Registered CAPRAC members attending will vote on candidates for five board director positions, along with other issues and proposals raised during the evening meeting. Non-members and interested residents of the region are welcome to attend and hear the progress report on CAPRAC’s efforts during the past year to promote and support the arts and culture sector of Prescott-Russell.
