grades across multiple wards. These projects are part of on- going maintenance needs and our long-term system investment. In the north end, residents have been engaging us regarding traffic flow and pedestrian safety around major retail corridors and school zones. We’re grateful for this feedback and your insights on congestion points and intersection safety, all of which inform our ongoing planning. We’ve also reactivated the Wonderland Road EA to help ease traffic flow along a key corridor and make travel in and out of the neighbourhood simpler. Hyde Park and Oakridge continue to evolve as key growth areas, and the balance between commercial expansion and livability remains a consistent focus in our decision-making. I’m looking forward to further conversations at events and in our parks and trails about this important work. Mayor Josh Morgan

Hyde Park and Oakridge is fully into the spring season, with our streets seeing increased activity as daily routines shift outdoors again. Warmer weather also means spring operations are up and running around London through a combination of pro- grams, including London Clean & Green’s community clean-ups and the Renew Capital construction program.

Ward 8 Update from City Hall

by Steve Lehman, Ward 8 London City Councillor, slehman@london.ca A Step Forward in Addressing Homelessness in London

London continues to make progress on addressing homelessness through a multistep housing approach. Over the past three and a half years, our community has helped 1,500 people move from living rough into permanent housing through shelters, hubs, supportive housing, and ultimately affordable homes. On April 9th, we marked the opening of Coves Landing, a 50 unit supportive housing development. These homes support individuals living with complex mental health or addiction challenges who are ready to transition from hospital care, shelters, or highly supportive hubs, but who still need onsite supports to remain housed. The building is operated by Indwell, which currently runs over 250 supportive housing units in London, with another 100 coming soon. Coves Landing is the result of strong partnerships between the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, along with significant private investment. Funding includes $25 million in private donations through Fund for Change, matched by $11 million in public funding, and support from Developers for Change, a fund established by London’s development community. Local developers Drewlo, Auburn, Sifton, and Tricar played a key role in sourcing the building and completing a major renovation to create these new homes. This is London working together, helping people stabilize today so they can move toward permanent housing tomorrow.
