Stop and Smell the Roses… Without Leaving Your Car A new way to pick up flowers has arrived in St. Thomas with the opening of Flowers Because, a new business from Todd and Kathy Noble, owners of Petals of Love. Flowers Because is the sister store to Petals of Love and offers a quick and convenient way for customers to purchase fresh flowers through a pick-up window, the first concept of its kind in the community. “Owning a flower shop has been a lifelong dream of Kathy’s,” Todd explains. “When the opportunity with Petals of Love arose in 2024, we didn’t hesitate; we jumped in and purchased the business. Flowers Because is the exciting expansion of our sister store, Petals of Love, bringing quick and convenient floral joy to the community.” “Flowers Because is St. Thomas’ only flower shop with a pick-up window,” he says. “We offer beautiful pre-made mixed bouquets, fresh bunches of roses and other popular flowers, along with some lovely plants. It’s designed for quick, convenient purchases so customers can brighten someone’s day without any hassle and at prices that make it easy to enjoy fresh flowers more often.” The idea for the business came from recognizing how often people want to grab flowers quickly on their way somewhere. “The inspiration came from wanting to make flowers more accessible and spontaneous,” Todd says. “A store model with a pick-up window removes barriers and turns flowers into a quick, effortless, everyday treat.” The process is simple for customers. Drivers pull up to the window, choose their flowers from the menu posted outside,

pay, and head on their way in just minutes. “It’s perfect for busy schedules and reduces the stress around last-minute gifts,” Todd explains. “Customers can get fresh flowers quickly without leaving their car.” Flowers Because focuses on ready-to-go bouquets rather than custom arrangements. “Custom arrangements, weddings, and funeral flowers will continue to be handled through Petals of Love, while the new location focuses on speed and convenience.” Todd believes the concept fits well in the community, especially with its central Wellington Street location (at 235 Wellington St, in the Lyle Cook Plaza). And while flowers are often associated with holidays, Todd hopes the new shop will encourage people to enjoy them more often. “A simple bouquet is one of the easiest and most thoughtful ways to show someone you care,” he says. “Why not enjoy that beauty inside on an ordinary Tuesday, just because?”
