First Week C atching a C rook

Lesson: What do you t h i n k this black “F” represents? “It is black, and black reminds us of sin.” Yes, it reminds us •of the sin of falsehood. Most people do not realize the seriousness of the sin of lying. Paul wrote, “Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are mem bers one of another” (Eph. 4:25 R. V;). Some people have to fight this sin more than other wrong-doing. Most people are guilty of lying more than they realize. This “F” not only tells us of the sin of falsehood, but it shows the secret of having Victory over it. This pair of scissors will help Us to understand how the liar may have victory,' (Cut the top bar off, horizontally, where it joins the upright. Unfold, and ybu have a black capital "I”.) We now have a black “I.” The one who is guilty of this sin should con fess it to God, and bring it to the cross of Christ. (Open the remaining part of the “F” and it will be a cross. Put the “I” on the cross.) When the sinner sees his sin on the cross, he will have victory. (Turn the “I” over, allowing the white side to show.) Not only the sin of falsehood, but all other sins are made white as snow by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. “Come now, and let us reason to gether, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isa. 1:18). Third Week A C ure F or C oveting

This “I” is now covered with sin. Many forms of stealing h a v e b e e n placed on it. It reminds me of a per son before he is saved. Even if one is such a thief, if he will humble himself, and take Christ as his personal Saviour, this sin of steal ing and all other sins will be placed under the blood of Christ. (Fold the "I” as directed.) Now we have a cross of red, repre senting the blood of Christ, covering all of our sins. Second Week L earning A bout L ying

Objects: A capital “I” and a black crayon. (The “I” is cut from stiff con struction paper, before the lesson. It should be 14 inches high, the stem 1 inch wide, and the top and bottom bars 4 inches wide and 1 inch high. Color the back red. Crease 2% inches from the top, permitting the top to fold forward when desired. Make an other crease 5 inches from the bottom. When the top is .folded down and the bottom up, the two bars will come to gether, making a red cross.) Lesson: This white “I” reminds me of an individual when he is born into the world. His life’s record is clean, but because of his sinful heart it does not remain that way long. Many sins are committed which stain and mar the life. I want to talk to you about one particular sin—stealing. More peo ple are guilty of this sin than we realize. One of the first things which a child steals is something out of his mother’s cupboard. Mothers often forbid chil dren’s eating between meals in order that they may have good appetites at mealtime. We will write the word “ FOOD” on this “ I” with a black crayon. Children have been known to steal money from their mother’s purse, in order to buy candy. We will write the word “MONEY” on the “I.” Older people have been known to steal time from their employers, when the boss was not watchfflg. We will write “TIME” on the “I.” It is possible to steal another per son’s good name by speaking falsely about him. We will put the word “NAME” on the “I.”

Objects: A large capital “F” and a pair of scissors. (The “F” should be made from a piece of stiff paper, 20 x 24 inches. Fold, making the size 10 x 24. Along a line one inch from the folded line, cut upward for 15 inches to make the upright. The small cross bar should be 15 inches from the bot tom, 4 inches in its horizontal meas urement, and 2 inches deep. The top bar should be 2 inches deep and should extend 9 inches horizontally. There should be a one-inch hook ex tending up as well as down from the end of th'e top bar, making a perfect “I” when the top bar is cut off. Color the “F” black on both sides. The in side of the top bar should be white. All below the top bar should be red, making a red cross when separated from the top bar. (f asten with thumb tacks to a wall or blackboard.)
