Scratching Around In Scratch Jr

Sessions: Friday 5BC

Scratch Jr. is an APP that teaches young people how to program computers to create interactive stories and games. Students snap together programming blocks to make scenes and characters move, jump, dance, change costumes, and sing. Join me as we explore what can be done using Scratch Jr. Please bring an iPad if possible.

MouseBots K-2

Sessions: Tuesday 1BC Wednesday 3BC

Get your students excited about coding with Code and Go MouseBots! In this hands-on session, you'll explore how to introduce early learners to foundational programming concepts using fun, screen-free activities. You'll learn how to guide students through sequencing, problem-solving, and critical thinking as they code their mouse to navigate mazes and complete challenges. Perfect for K–2 classrooms, this session will equip you with strategies to bring coding to life through play-based learning.

Sessions: Thursday 1B

Discover how to inspire and support young learners in computer science with Girls Who Code's free resources and programs. This session will introduce you to their Clubs Program for grades 3–12, offering ready-to- use curricula, project guides, and facilitator support—no prior coding experience required. You'll explore engaging activities, including both unplugged and online options, that help students build coding skills and create meaningful projects. Learn how to start a club in your school or community.
