Introduction to Micro:Bit

Sessions: Wednesday 1A Thursday 1A

Participants will learn to use the micro:bit to design and implement a working pulse sensor device. This hands-on session will introduce basic programming concepts, data collection, and sensor integration using the micro:bit platform. Educators will explore how to guide students in building a device that responds to real-time input, connecting coding to real-world applications in health and science. No prior experience with micro:bit is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment!

Connecting STEAM with Nonfiction Books

Participants will learn how to connect simple, hands-on STEAM activities with engaging non-fiction books to enrich literacy and science instruction.
