Emily Seay Special Events
The recent Tiki Pop-Up in Ollie’s was a huge success. The custom drinks engineered and phenomenal food
prepared were hits with the membership. However, the glue that brought the entire event together was furniture and staging thanks to this employee. When the concept was first born this employee was the person multiple people on the team directed me to. In the matter of one meeting she was able to take my vision and bring it to life. She took the lead on contacting vendors for plants and furniture. She spent hours working with vendors and getting schematics, layouts and quotes. Over a few weeks she collected multiple options and quotes which allowed us to create the best environment at budget. As if her work was not already above and beyond this employee really stepped in the day of the event. She volunteered to be the point of contact for the furniture and plant deliveries so I would not have to be at the club at 9 AM. She helped place the furniture and plants, providing an eye for details that created a space and feel that set the mood for the entire event. Finally, she jumped in the car and
made a last-minute trip to Target to help find tiki torches and other small table top items for the bar. In total, this employee spent over 4 hours helping me set up the event. She is an MVP for tying together all of the details to make Ollie’s a Tiki destination.
HERE’S HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS: Nominations can be submitted by:
Calling the MVP Hotline (ext. 687) OR sending an email to mvp@theccv.org What should be included in your nomination? Tell us an example of when this person went above and beyond. The more details and specifics you include, the better! Who makes the final decision? Winners are selected by a committee made up of your fellow co-workers from each area of the Club. The reward for the winners is an MVP cup and a $100 gift card! Do you know of someone who goes above and beyond and deserves extra recognition? Nominate that person for an MVP Award!
