Although we have made some progress there are still areas where we need to improve. We recognise, for example, that our talent pipeline is not as diverse as we would like and selection will be a particular focus over the next year.”

BIS 2020 transformation programme 12 July 2016

BIS 2020 is the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills’ ongoing strategic transformation programme which aims to modernise the way that BIS works, reduce operating costs and deliver a simpler, smaller department that is more flexible and responsive to stakeholders.

This study will examine:

 how the programme was planned;  how the early stages of implementation are progressing; and  the quality of analysis that supports the programme.
