CLARENCE CREEK | The Clarence Creek Skating Club has some new award memo- ries to add to the trophy case. Four of its members took their turns in the podium spotlight at the Eastern Onta- rio StarSkate Invitational Championships (EOSIC). That put them in line for the All- Ontario StarSkate Championships. During mid-February Francesca Whitta- ker, ZacharyWhittaker, XavierWhittaker and Cassandra Pagé stepped onto the ice at EO- SIC. Francesca took third place in the Gold Women’s category while Zachary nailed the silver in junior Bronze Men’s competition. The team of Xavier and Cassandra skated to third in the junior Bronze Ice Dance event. Their top-three finishes qualified each of the four for provincials in Wellington mid- March. Francesca placed ninth with a per- sonal best performance. Zachary also achie- ved a person best with a sixth-place finish. Xavier and Cassandra enjoyed another podium spotlight moment with a silver-me- dal finish in their Ice Dance category. ORLÉANS | Progress on theMiracle League ball field project is the highlight event on schedule at next month’s annual general meeting. The board of directors and supporters of the Miracle League baseball field of dreams will find out how close the dream is to beco- ming a reality during the May 10 annual ge- neral meeting at Notre Dame des Champs Park on Navan Road. Another highlight of the meeting will be guest speaker, Mike Kusiewicz, a former Warden’s golf HAWKESBURY | Golfers may want to pen- cil June 20 on their calendars. That is the date for the Annual Warden’s Benefit Golf Tournament in Prescott-Russell. Proceeds go to support local charities and non-pro- fit groups.
