W e are most certain- ly living in inter- esting times, and
The fact that we continue to see relatively low interest rates historically is great for buyers looking to purchase properties, and sellers are benefiting from all-time high prices thanks to the high de- mand for multifamily prop- erties. At Kislak, thanks to our history and strength, we are in the position to deliver for buyers and sellers. Our team is made up of dynamic, hard-working, knowledge- able individuals who go all out for each and every client. We are problem-solvers who make it our business to know
our business inside and out. We knock on doors and go out and meet people in person because we believe it is important to build and maintain personal relation- ships over time. We act as they eyes and eyes for our clients, providing market information and keeping in touch, so when it comes time to buy or sell, we will be the broker of choice. Our sales team is growing and our market share has increased in a variety of sub- markets. In addition to our investment sales business,
we are continuing to expand our commercial sales and leasing division by providing office/industrial sales and leasing and retail leasing/ tenant representation on a regional basis. Kislak’s me- ticulous and highly skilled administrative support team plays a key role in ensuring we can obtain exclusives and close deals. In these interesting times, it is important to do business with people who know how to navigate the turbulence. Just the kind of people who have been forging relationships
and closing deals at Kislak for more than a century. Robert Holland is presi- dent of The Kislak Com- pany, Inc. Robert Holland joined Kis- lak in 1984 and became president in 2012. Consis- tently, among the leading brokers of apartment build- ings in central and eastern Pennsylvania, Holland is one of Kislak’s all-time lead- ing salespeople with sales totaling more than $3 bil- lion. team well for more than 112 years, through ever-chang- ing market conditions. We are coming off an extraordinarily success- ful year, and many of our salespeople had the best 12 months of their careers. In our primary markets of New Jersey, eastern Pennsylva- nia, southern New York and Delaware, we finished 2017 with a total of 195 closed transactions – more than one every two days. It was exciting to watch the year unfold as our sales team put together incredible deals. We saw amazing performances from our very experienced salespeople, while many of the more recent additions to our sales force made great strides and firmly estab- lished themselves with im- pressive transactions. As we start 2018, we are confident our versatility positions us for another pros- perous year. We are encour- aged by many economists’ predictions for continued growth in the year ahead, but we are also fully aware of potential turbulence. Our 95-year-old chairman, Jay I. Kislak, a World War II Naval Aviator and lifelong pilot, has taught us that in the air and in business, with knowledge and skill you can ride out the turbulence and make a successful landing. Multifamily remains a strong real estate market and a terrific investment. From millennials to baby boomers, the demand for apartments continues to grow. While more and more people are renting by choice for freedom and flexibility, tight mortgage lending keeps others from becoming home- buyers. The new federal tax bill is also likely to strength- en the already strong rental market, as the reduction in state and local income tax deductions leads more people to become or remain renters.
