Instructions for: Mug Box Printable with Sublimation
1. Set the heat press to 180°C and 60 seconds.
2. You will have a foldable box, a ribbon, and double-sided tape pieces.
- Before pressing , carefully identify all fold or seam lines on the sublimatable box blank. - Using light pressure, pre-fold each seam just enough to create a visible crease. Fold each seam in the correct direction, as you will do when doing the assembly in the end. Make it flat again after these steps.
3. Your template will look like the images on the left, you will divide your artwork into pieces to print it all together on an A4 sublimation paper. I made a background colour behind my artwork to have a bleed. (image on the right, ready to print on A4)
4. Line your artwork up very precisely on the smoother, more sheen glossy side of the box. You will apply the print to the two big wings first, and lastly, the middle piece. Secure with heat tape from the inside of the box to the print:
5. In a 38x38cm size press or bigger, you can put the whole box inside the press by putting it from one corner to the other to fit in. Press for 60 seconds.
6. When done pressing, open the press and remove the prints, and heat the tape.
7. Fold the box on all the lines to look like the images below. Place double-sided tape on the little flaps (it will go on the printed side and stick the flaps to the inside of the box.)
