Editorʼs Corner William Lee, RN, CCRN Staff Nurse, Cardiac Cath & Endovascular Lab Over the next few newsletters, this section of the newsletter is reserved for my thoughts & commentary on being a new nurse in the Cath Lab @ Jacobi at NYC Health & Hospitals. A little about myself, I have been a nurse since 2016 and practiced in many settings from Med/Surg to Cardiothoracic ICU on the night shi at various hospitals in NYC before finally retiring being a vampire to join the Cath Lab team on the day shi . As a second career RN, I feel that being a bedside nurse is truly a calling for me. Heck, I could be W orking F rom H ome with a better schedule and similar pay in my previous career, but I choose to grind it out at the patientʼs bedside day in and day out. I am passionate about patient care, safety & outcomes and nerd it out in R/Nursing, an online forum for nurses. My hope is that this newsletter be disseminated throughout the Jacobi & NYCHH community to allow others to see the great and life saving work occurring daily by the dedicated and hard working staff of the Cath Lab & Endovascular Team at Jacobi Medical Center.
