3.PENSION SCHEME

4.PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS

5.SHOPPING GATEWAY

6.TASTECARD

GROUP INCOME PROTECTION (benefits window)

For anyone at an M2 level and above, Group Protection Income is provided to you by Scrutton Bland, once your probation period is passed. Scrutton Bland has a Group Income Protection policy in place that provides financial protection in the event of an approved claim resulting from a period of long-term absence from work due to illness or incapacity. In the event of a successful claim, the Income Protection Scheme is an insurance scheme that provides up to 50% of your basic salary before you fall ill when you are unable to perform your job. You will be paid once you have been off work for 26 consecutive weeks, known as the 'deferred period', and have satisfied the insurer's definition of incapacity. The benefit will be paid for a maximum of 5 years, until you return to work, reach your state pension age or leave the employment of Scrutton Bland whichever is earlier. Payments will also cease in the event of your death. You must continue to satisfy the insurer's definition of incapacity, and you mustn’t take on any other paid employment without notifying the insurer, during the payment period. The amount you are paid each month remains the same throughout the period of payment i.e. it doesn’t increase or decrease.

LIFE ASSURANCE (upgrade only available in the benefits window)

All employees are covered by the Scrutton Bland Group Life Assurance Scheme, which is also known as Death in Service from the first day of employment. Life Assurance is a benefit which provides a lump sum payment to a person you nominate, in the event of your death while you are in the employment of Scrutton Bland. Employee Life Assurance will cover you as long as you are employed and will cease once you retire. You should complete your Expression of Wish Form annually so that it is up to date. This can be found on Employment Hero and an annual reminder will be sent to you to review and complete. Each year you will have the ability to increase your cover.

PENSION SCHEME

It may feel like a really long way off, but the sooner you start saving for your pension, the more money you’ll have when you retire. Scrutton Bland offer their workplace pension through Scottish Widows and all employees are automatically enrolled onto the scheme once you meet the eligibility criteria. Please refer to the Workplace Pension Legislation to find out more. Rather than operate a pension scheme where your contributions are deducted from net pay (referred to as tax relief at source), Scrutton Bland has established a salary sacrifice scheme, meaning that your contributions are deducted directly from your wages. The minimum total contribution to your pension is 8%. When you join the scheme, this will be made up by 3% from Scrutton Bland and 5% by you (the employee) if you are below M3 level. If you are at M3 level or above the Scrutton Bland employer contribution will be 5%. If you are an employee under M3 level once you have two years of service the contribution from Scrutton Bland will increase to 5%. You are able to adjust your workplace pension contributions at any time by emailing employeebenefits@scruttonbland.co.uk. On joining the pension scheme, Scottish Widows will write to you to confirm the detail of the pension plan. If you wish to transfer another pension to your new scheme, they will include details on how to do this. If you don’t meet the eligibility criteria and wish to join the pension scheme please email employeebenefits@scruttonbland.co.uk. Please note: By law we are unable to provide you with pension advice and you should contact an Independent Financial Adviser for guidance and information on pensions. Alternatively, please see the resources below: Click here for a video from Scottish Widows on how much you should be saving each month. A short video provides information on the Lifetime Allowance. You can find out more by scanning the QR code above.
