PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE
(benefits window)
For anyone at an M2 level and above, Private Medical Insurance is provided to you by Scrutton Bland, once your probation period is passed. For those below M2 level, every year we give you the opportunity to pay to sign up to our private medical insurance scheme. You also have the choice to extend the policy to family members. The insurance is provided by BUPA using their BUPA Select scheme. Private Medical insurance provides cover for the cost of some GP- referred medical treatments. It covers you for the cost of both outpatient and inpatient treatment, received in private care, up to pre-defined limits. It also provides a cash benefit for some treatments received under NHS care. You can be treated at a range of hospitals (either NHS or private) and claims are settled by the insurance company directly with the hospital (subject to any excess payable by you). Please note that BUPA must always pre-authorise any treatment. The cost of this benefit is dependent on your age and who you choose to cover under your policy.
DENTAL
(benefits window)
As an employee of Scrutton Bland, you have the option to purchase dental insurance if you wish. Dental insurance provides you with cover against the cost of certain types of restorative and preventative dental treatment. Benefits are provided through an insurance policy provided by Unum Dental, from which you can choose the level of cover that is most appropriate for you. Children up to the age of 21 (or 23 if in full time education) can be included in the scheme under the single parent and family options. You can be treated at most dentists (either NHS or private) and claims are settled up to the cover limits after you submit your receipts for treatment through Unum’s online portal. Claims must be submitted within 90 days of the completion of your course of treatment. Reimbursements are limited and depend on the level of cover you have chosen. Cosmetic dental treatment is not covered. For more details please refer to Unum Dental website or check out this video.
