Testimonials

Don’t just take our word for it. See what colleges and students who’ve trained with us have to say. From hands-on ex- periences to expert-led sessions, their feedback speaks for itself.

The hands-on training gave our students the chance to step into the world of aviation with practical exercises including live fire safety drills, evacuation slide procedures, smoke-filled cabin searches, and emergency landing and evacuation protocols. Each one of our students walked away with an officially recognised certificate, real-world insight, and a renewed sense of confidence in pursuing a career in the airline industry. We’re incredibly grateful to the team at SkyPeople for creating such a supportive and pro- fessional environment - this experience will stay with our students as they continue their journey toward exciting careers in the travel industry.

Hull College

Professional planned training experience. SkyPeople representatives are welcoming and encourage all students to participate, staff have a great way of getting the best from the students. We always look forward to attending the training days as we feel the students ex- perience real world training simulations in a relaxed manner that allows them to practice their new learned skills before they venture into the world of employment. The timetable for the day is well thought out to give all students enough time on each facility. Facili- ties are excellent. The variety of aircraft doors allow the students to experience different airlines cabin doors and gives them an expectation of what they will be working with in future careers. The cabin is fantastic and realistic for practical drills. The addition of the fire fighting over the last couple of years has given another dimension to the training. Newcastle College Everything about our 2 days at EDM was amazing. The experienced and friendly instruc- tors and first class facilities, made our visit most enjoyable and memorable for our stu- dents. We can’t wait to return. The experience covered many different aspects of cabin crew training, which allowed the students to experience first hand some of the aspects which would be part of an actual airline training course. All instructors were very patient and welcoming to our students. We have been very lucky to have had Ian for two years, who is just fantastic. Vicky who instructed our wet drills made this experience very easy for our learners. I would also like to thank Mike for coordinating our experience and ensuring our visit was excellent and Helen makes everything very easy with the booking process. A huge thank you to all the staff. Introduction to Crew Resource Management

(Recommended for Gen Z learners to raise awareness of professional practice and to improve communication skills)

Following a spate of aviation incidents in the 70s which were contributed to by Human Error, in 1981 United Airlines became the first airline to offer what was then Cockpit Resource Management . This groundbreaking initiative, initially aimed at flight deck crews, was later expanded to include cabin crew and evolved into what is now widely known as Crew Resource Management (CRM). CRM looks at human factors which impact flight safety, highlighting human lim- itations to raise awareness and improve flight safety.

A look into the aviation incidents which formed the basis of CRM training Understanding the importance of teamwork and communication Personality awareness and your role within a team Stress and stress management Situational awareness How human factors can impact flight safety

Current Challenges in the Aviaition Industry Aviation is a vulnerable industry impacted by everything from geopolitical events to volcanoes. We take a look at some of the biggest challenges the industry has faced as well as highlighting the current obstacles airlines are facing across the world.

What are the current threats to the industry How geopolitical events are shaping the way we travel How the industry reacts to an ever changing landscape Exploring the latest EASA Safety Bulletins

Aviation First Aid

According to MedAire every year 59,000 medical incidents happen in flight, 2.1% of them result in the aircraft diverting for medical assistance. We take a look at the most common first aid incidents to happen during flight.

Aviation Security Aviation is a worldwide industry carrying 2.3 billion passengers every year, but not all of them have good intentions. This workshop looks at how airlines, airports, and authorities keep us safe from the risk of a security threats.

Aviation Regulations

The first module of the Cabin Crew Attestation looks at a number of fundamental subjects aimed at giving the learner the basic knowledge needed in the role of Cabin Crew.

Survival Accidents and incidents can happen at any time and anywhere along the aircraft’s flight path. From sea to artic sur- vival, explore the skills needed to remain safe should the worst happen using a number of fascinating case studies to enhance learning.

Conflict Management

According to a 2019 EASA report, every 3 hours the safety of a flight within the EU is threatened by passengers demon- strating unruly or disruptive behaviour. At least 70% of these incidents involve some form of aggression. De-escalation training equips the learner with the skills and knowledge to manage challenging behaviours effectively and prevent situations from escalating into more severe incidents. Effective de-escalation requires compassion, empa- thy, and a willingness to understand more than one point of view.

Stay calm and professional when faced with difficult situations Use proven techniques to defuse conflict before it escalates Build emotional resilience and teamwork under pressure Empower your workforce with the tools needed to manage challenging situations confidently

Wet Drill Survival - Swimming Pool Activity Available at a swimming pool local to your campus, this training forms part of the Cabin Crew Attestation. Learners will receive a training record which they can take to an airline as certification of completing this element of training. Learners will take part in a number of pool based activities including donning a lifejacket, towing an injured passenger, entering a life raft from the water and how to protect injured crew and passengers in a water survival situation.

UK Cabin Crew Attestation

Once a year SkyPeople Training hold a special UK Cabin Crew Attestation course for college leavers. This is a heavily dis- counted course where learners have an opportunity to gain their ‘license to fly.’ All Cabin Crew must hold an Attestation before they undertake any duties as cabin crew and it is the only industry recognised qualification.

Cabin crew training is divided into three parts:

Cabin Crew Attestation (CCA) Operator Conversion Course (OCC) Aircraft Type Specific (ATS)

More airline operators now require candidates to hold an Attestation before applying for a position as Cabin Crew. Having an attestation showcases to the airline a candidate’s ability to progress successfully through their OCC and ATS training. It appeals to airlines as an effective cost saving measure, reducing the footprint of both their training and recruitment.

The attestation serves as the learner’s ‘license’, allowing them to work with any UK airline. It remains valid for five years and, if a learner becomes crew, it remains valid for a further five years from the date of their last flight.

The 6 day CCA course consists of eight modules, detailed below. Courses can be delivered in person, or online via our virtual classroom (however, the final day must be attended in person for learners to complete their final exam and practical assessments, including wet drills). To enroll the minimum age is 17, however, learners must be 18 to take part in the final day and gain their attestation. Learners who are not 18 on the final day can choose to complete this either on a scheduled date in August or Septem- ber. This option is also available for learners who have to travel to complete the final day.

The cost of this course is £360 per learner, saving £500 and can be booked and delivered in a number of ways:

Learners can enrol themselves via our website onto either a virtual or classroom course at our Manchester Academy choosing the following course dates:

Monday 15th June - Saturday 20th June Monday 29th June - Saturday 4th July

Colleges wishing to enrol a group of learners can schedule a course to be delivered on campus Note that the last day of the virtual course must be attended in person at our Manchester Academy. Learners who are not yet 18 by the last day of the course can attend a final day on either Saturday 15th August or Sat- urday 12th September.

We follow the college’s standard, however we ask that students have flat shoes with them for practical training sessions.
