On 21 March, they held their annual rules clinic; thanks to Mary Ann, Brad, and Jimmy for the great presentation and helpful information. 28 March officially opened their season with the 2026 Spring Kickoff business meeting and 9-hole scramble. The board shared important information about the season and the Queen provided details about the WWOFO 2026 outing in October (more details and sign up coming via email and Facebook). 4 April is a Fairfax play day, while 11 & 25 April and will be at Arlington. Of course, these are in addition to the regular Wednesday evenings at Arlington and Thursday evenings at Fairfax. April’s special event is at Fairfax on 18 April. The draft of our full schedule of events is now available on the CWGO page of the ANCC portal. Of note, on 16 May we will hold our annual Breast Cancer Care Bag Fundraiser Tournament; sign up to play and wear PINK or, whether you play or not, please consider making a donation to this worthy cause. With the arrival of warmer weather, the 2026 WGO-18 season is officially underway! Congratulations to the dedicated golfers who kept their games sharp over the winter, completing more than 10 rounds in our Winter Ringers tournament. Our season opened 1 April with our Spring Luncheon, followed by the first Play Day on 3 April. Looking ahead, the first tournament “Spring Fling” will be held 7 April, and clinics are scheduled throughout April at both the Arlington and Fairfax campuses. WGO-18 offers organized 18-hole play twice weekly —Tuesdays in Arlington and Fridays in Fairfax—along with a mix of tournaments, competitions, play days and events throughout the season. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the game, meet fellow golfers, and be part of a vibrant and welcoming group. All women who enjoy playing 18 holes are encouraged to join.
