Use of College Facilities With the HCC identification card a faculty member may use the services of the Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center (ARCC). The ARCC is available to fill the fitness and recreation needs of all HCC students, HCC employees, program participants, and the community. The ARCC is generally available for students and staff use when no special events are taking place and not between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., because of the athletic team practices. Campus Facilities Management and Planning – Maintenance and Custodial Services The Office of Facilities Management and Planning provides maintenance and custodial services to the HCC campus . The maintenance staff operates and maintains building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electric, plumbing and carpentry services, as well as caring for the structural components of the buildings such as walls, floors and roof. The campus grounds are also cared for by members of the maintenance staff. The custodial service staff provides general housekeeping and cleaning for common areas, interior space, classrooms and departmental space within the College. This includes regular trash removal, floor cleaning, dusting and lamp replacement. Custodial services also coordinates pest control and recycling programs. Faculty may request services from the Facilities Management and Planning Office by logging in to the HCC website: Faculty & Staff > Facilities Management & Planning > Maintenance Request. Merle S. Elliott Conference Center The Merle S. Elliot Continuing Education and Conference Center, known as the Elliot Center, provides meeting space for educational and/or learning events. The conference center offers five training rooms and can accommodate up to 150 attendees seated classroom-style with two additional breakout rooms. Each room offers state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment. Contact the Office of Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education for information about the Conference Center. Use of College Vehicles Guidelines According to Policy #8055 Board of Trustees Approved: November 16, 2007, Hagerstown Community College (HCC) maintains a limited number of vehicles for use by employees and/or students for College related activities only. Use of College vehicles for personal use is prohibited. HCC strongly encourages employees to use an HCC vehicle when multiple employees are traveling to the same venue. However, if a College employee chooses to use their personal vehicles for College business it will require them to adhere to the guidelines set forth below.
