Institutional Assessment Committee Jurisdiction • The Institutional Assessment Committee considers and makes recommendations on policies related to methodologies and systems with emphasis on campus-wide assessments. • Recommendations may include the development and review of strategies, procedures, and tools to continually assess and improve programs at the institutional and department level. Membership • Senior Director of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness, co-chair • One faculty member, co-chair • One Student Affairs representative • One Finance representative • One academic representative • One Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education • One additional representative from Planning and Institutional Effectiveness • One exempt staff • One non-exempt staff Reporting Relationship The Institutional Assessment Committee makes policy recommendations to the President. Meetings This committee will meet on the fourth Thursday of each month. Faculty Work Expectations As an educational institution striving to maintain excellence, HCC has set expectations for the faculty workload. The normal faculty work year for ten-month faculty begins on the first day of fall faculty in- service and runs through the corresponding date in June of the following year (e.g. if Fall faculty in-service is on August 20, then the work year ends on June 20 the following year). Faculty will be available for College functions, meetings, professional development, etc., through the end of their scheduled work year. For faculty holding eleven-month positions, the work year begins on the first day of fall in- service, however, the end of the work year is dependent on the cycle of courses offered in their academic discipline. The four non-reporting weeks (22 days) that 11-month faculty are not required to be on campus are to be established annually in consultation with the Division Director and approved by the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services. The President and Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services determine all employment options regarding 10-month vs. 11-month positions. *Prior written approval of teaching involving additional compensation must be obtained from the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services.
