The function of the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management involves the enrollment and recruitment efforts for the college and is housed in the ASA building. All admissions applications, high school transcripts, SAT/ACT/MCAP scores, student residency and Access Early to College registrations for classes offered at local high schools are processed through the Admissions Office. The primary function of the Admissions Office is to work with recruiting students and meeting with prospective students. Other duties include tracking and scoring of Nursing and Allied Health program applications, conducting campus tours and maintaining the college’s master recruitment schedule. Multicultural Recruitment The central purpose of the Recruitment and International Specialist at HCC is to identify, recruit, and retain students from historically under-represented student populations. These groups may include first-generation college students, students of color, and students from high-need financial backgrounds. HCC seeks to increase the ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of new students and encourages advancement of a campus-wide commitment to developing a diverse and multicultural student body recognizing differences and similarities across cultures. Outreach efforts include working with school counselors, ELL specialists, religious organizations, through college fairs and community based organizations providing the public with information about academic programs, resources, and opportunities available to under-represented student populations. Retention and Registration Office The Retention and Registration Office is located in the Student Center. Credit registration is conducted primarily online through Self-Service, though situations exist that prohibit online registration and require paper registration. Anything related to credit registration, such as class additions and drops, withdraws, overrides, change of major, etc. should be referred to this office.
