General library hours throughout the year are: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness The Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (PIE) is responsible for the implementation and coordination of the College’s planning, research and evaluation processes that support institutional effectiveness, accountability, assessment, and facilities development. In addition, the Dean of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and with assistance from the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services, coordinates related accreditation processes. The Dean of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness, with the assistance of the Governance Council, also monitors campus governance issues. Institutional Research The institutional research (IR) function of the PIE office: • Provides accurate, timely, accessible and relevant data and analyses to support data- informed planning, policy development and decision-making at the institutional level; • Develops a reporting calendar and documentation for routine and scheduled deliverables • Compiles and verifies data for submission to state and federal reporting agencies; • Processes ad hoc data requests from campus constituents in support of both institutional level projects (enrollment management, enrollment projections, retention, etc.) and division/department/program level needs (program accreditation, program enrollment and completion trends, etc.) • Supports data literacy on campus, and participates in discussions regarding data collection and use; • Produces the annual Fact Book with summarized data for internal use; • Designs and conducts specialized evaluations and research projects; • Researches and compiles information on national, state, and local trends across sectors in environmental scanning reports. and maintains the college’s survey cycle documentation; • Assists with fulfilling compliance reporting requirements; To place a request for assistance for data, assessment data, survey development, or strategic planning assistance, submit a request using the following link: PIE Data Request Form or visit the Planning and Institutional Effectiveness page on the HCC website. College Advancement The Office of College Advancement conducts activities which strengthen the College’s ability to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency and viability. The Hagerstown Community College Foundation, Inc., fundraising efforts provide a stable income base for student financial assistance
