Early College Access Program (ECAP) Through the Early College Access Program, students can earn college credit at HCC, or while still at their home high school or home school. ECAP students do not attend HCC full-time. Out- of-county and out-of-state residents receive a 25% reduction on tuition rates, however, they would be charged based on residency for their first four classes. ECAP students take classes at HCC, select off-campus locations, and/or in a dual-credit class at their high school. The dual- credit classes are those that award both high school and college credit. Early College Degree Program (ECDP) HCC and Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) have established the Early College Degree Program which allows college-ready high school students the opportunity to earn college credits and credentials while completing their high school diplomas. WCPS Students do not pay tuition for Early College Degree classes. WCPS students pay all fees and textbook costs associated with classes this fiscal year. All other students receive a 25 percent reduction on tuition rates they would be charged based on their residency. Through the Early College Degree Program, each student will be given an opportunity to earn at least 30 college credits, and many will be able to complete requirements for a certificates and associate degrees by the time they graduate from high school. Students in ninth and tenth grade are enrolled in the Early College Degree Program, as recruits, and must take significant math and science coursework at their “home’ high schools to prepare them for their junior and senior years as students in the Early College Degree Program on the HCC campus. Disability Support Services (DSS) Hagerstown Community College provides reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and its amendments. All accommodations are based upon documentation that must be provided by a licensed or certified professional. The DSS office coordinates the provision of reasonable accommodations which are determined on an individual basis. These accommodations allow students to be evaluated not on the effects of his/her disability, but instead on his/her knowledge and understanding of course material. In no case, however, will the College modify essential requirements for any course or degree program for students with disabilities. It is the student’s responsibility to identify him/herself to the Disability Support Services (DSS) office at 240-500-2628 or at dss@hagerstowncc.edu at least two weeks prior to the start of classes to allow time for necessary arrangements to be made. It is expected that all DSS students will meet with the DSS office for advising questions and educational planning to ensure proper course selection and academic guidance. Evening Courses: On and Off Campus In addition to regular daytime offerings, HCC courses are offered during evening hours, typically between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on both the Main Campus (Robinwood) and off-campus locations.
