Feb. 28: 90 Minute Disaster Preparedness Class ReadyMarin invites community members to a free, hands-on disaster preparedness workshop on Feb. 28 designed to build confidence and practical skills for emergencies. Whether you’re new to preparedness or looking to strengthen an existing plan, this 90-minute class offers essential training to help keep you and your loved ones stay safe. Held at the Amonte Clubhouse, 105 Wisteria Way in Mill Valley, participants will learn how to understand emergency alerts, create a personal disaster plan, use a fire extinguisher and perform hands-only CPR. The workshop runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and more information can be found on marincounty.gov.
Feb. 14: Slide Ranch Family Farm Day—Valentine’s Themed Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a heartwarming morning of nature, creativity and farmyard fun for the whole family at Slide Ranch, 2025 Shoreline Hwy in Muir Beach. Activities may include baking Valentine’s cookies, themed wool crafts like felted hearts or friendship bracelets, salve making, and more—all with materials provided. Designed for all ages, this hands-on experience invites families to connect, create and explore together. Tickets for attendees 3+ are $45 per person and can be purchased on slideranch.org.
Feb. 19: Dave the Butcher at The Key Room On Feb. 19 at The Key Room, 1385 N. Hamilton Pkwy in Novato, join master meat-cutter and longtime educator Dave “the Butcher” Budworth for an engaging evening showcasing the art of butchery paired with a lamb-focused dinner. During a live demonstration, Dave will share his craft and expertise while guests enjoy a thoughtfully prepared menu highlighting prime lamb. Dinner from 6:30 to 9 p.m. includes two glasses of wine, if desired, to compliment the meal. At the end of the evening, Dave’s custom cuts of lamb will be raffled off to lucky attendees.
