Early Years Educational Entitlement St Andrew’s Prep Nursery is a recognised provider participating in the Early Years Educational Entitlement scheme (EYEE) which provides Nursery Education Grants for nine-month-olds to four-year-olds and offers a maximum of 15 or 30 funded hours per week. EYEE funding can only be claimed for full weeks and over 33 weeks of the year. The charges below cover the School Day and Extended Day sessions where EYEE hours have been confirmed on the ESCC Parent Declaration form. A signed EYEE funding form should be completed to confirm sessions and hours to be claimed. Any additional hours or sessions over and above your claim will be charged at the fully exclusive session rate.
You can check when your child is eligible to receive funded childcare here. There is also a useful FAQs for parents and further information about help paying for childcare here.
Funded only sessions Funded only sessions are available between 10.00am to 1.00pm (for 15-hour entitlement) or between 10.00am to 4.00pm (for 30-hour entitlement). Should you be in receipt of funded only sessions you will not be able to book any additional session within the nursery, or drop off and pick up outside this allocation. During these sessions, we are able to offer a supplement package which covers lunch and snacks during these hours at a small charge of 50p per funded hour. Should you wish to pay for this package, payment for the term will be required upfront. Please note that this package is optional and does not affect you booking a space.
No registration fee is required for a funded only place. Any deposit taken will be refunded after six weeks. Places are limited to availability, allocated during term time only, with no guarantee of renewal for the following term.
For more information please contact admissions@standrewsprep.co.uk
Supplement Package The funding amount we receive from ESCC is for the setting to use towards the cost of childcare only. The additional supplement package within the School Day and Extended Day sessions covers the cost of food, non-food consumables and activities. These include, but not limited to, lunch, snacks and smaller consumables, such as suncream. In the Pre-School the supplement charge also includes any additional education trips or visits which take place during the year. The supplement package has been included in the costs to parents below, however, this package remains optional. Should you not wish to pay for the supplement package, you will need to supply these items for your child for each booked session.

Frequently asked questions
How many classes are there? The Nursery is split into four classes: We aim to move children up to the next age group in the term after their applicable birthday.
Starlings class is for babies aged nine months to 18 months years old Robins class is for 18 months to 24 months Nightingales class is for children aged 24 months to 36 months Kingfishers class from three years+ until the end of Pre-School.
How do we book settling-in sessions? To help children settle in, we offer a minimum of two free settling-in periods, morning, or afternoon, to ensure a smooth transition. These may be taken during the week prior to a child starting at the Nursery, subject to availability. These may also be ex tended depending on each child’s personal and social needs.
How do we book our place? Stage One – Deposit
A deposit of £500 is requested to secure a place for your child at St Andrew’s Prep Nursery. Deposits are due one year before entry or upon registration for late entries. The deposit is held by the school as security and is refundable on the final bill after the child leaves, providing all financial commitments to the school have been met, and due notice (one full term) is given. Should you be accessing Funded Only sessions, the deposit will be returned after six weeks. Should you not attend the EYEE funded sessions, this deposit will be retained by the School. Stage Two – Session booking Sessions are booked in advance by completing a booking form. There is the opportunity to increase sessions with immediate effect, subject to availability. To reduce sessions, a term’s notice must be given in writing. Please note that if your child is eligible for the EYEE funding no extra funding can be claimed after the headcount day which is set by East Sussex County Council each term. How do we pay our fees? Fees are payable in advance before the first day of each term. Payment should be made by bank transfer. Please email lm@eastbourne-college.co.uk for further information regarding payment of fees. Please note: No remission will be given for missed sessions due to illness, holidays or otherwise. Likewise, no sessions in lieu of the aforementioned will be given. Extra sessions are charged at the full day rate, not the funded rate, as this cannot be applied after the headcount date each term has passed. Are you registered with a Tax Free Childcare Scheme? The Nursery is registered with the government tax free childcare scheme and if you would like more information, please see here. How can we book our place in the Prep School? A form will be sent from our Admissions department to ask if you wish to confirm your place in our Pre-Prep. If your child transfers from the Nursery to our Pre-Prep, a further top-up deposit is due to secure a place in our Reception class. Deposits are held by the school and are refundable when a child leaves, providing all financial commitments to the school have been met and due notice (one full term) has been given. What type of activities do you offer during sessions? St Andrew’s Prep Nursery offers specialist subjects each day for children aged two to four years old which are taught by our own specialist teachers. These are on offer during term time only and are included in the session price

quoted. The specialist subjects include cookery, dance, Woodland Classroom, gymnastics, ICT, music, and tennis. Alongside the specialist subjects, children enjoy a variety of other structured topics which include free play, topical activities, circle time, visiting the on-site library and joining the Pre-Prep for assemblies, concerts, and themed events. Do you supply my child with any food and snacks? During term-time, lunch is served at 11.45am and tea is served at 4.30pm. The younger children (Starling, Robin and Nightingale) are served lunch in the dedicated dining room in the Nursery, while the older children (Kingfisher) have their lunch in the Small Dining room in the Prep School. Please note: there is no catering provision during the holiday club, and all children will be required to bring a packed lunch, snacks, and a packed tea, depending on the sessions booked. Is there a minimum session requirement? We recommend every child attends the Nursery for at least two days per week. Our experience tells us that this allows children continuity and helps them to settle in more quickly into the Nursery routine. What happens if we need to drop off or pick up at a different time? Additional hours can be booked, subject to availability, at a rate of £11.00 per hour. Extra hours or sessions will be charged in arrears on the termly bill. A £15.00 fee per 15 minutes will be charged for any late collections. If we needed to leave, how do we give notice? One term’s notice in writing is required if your child will leave the Nursery, otherwise a term’s fees will be due. For those accessing EYEE Funded sessions (only), six weeks written notice is required. Please email admissions@standrewsprep.co.uk
