THE EVOLUTION OF TRUCKING
In The United States of America
The Federal Interstate High- way System , as the largest public works project in U.S. history, was signed by Presi- dent Eisenhower that added more the 40,000 miles of Interstate Highways.
The ELD Mandate is a federal government rule that requires truck drivers to use electronic logging devices (ELDs) to record Hours-of-Service. While designed to promote safety and regulation compliance, it has had a major deteriorating effect on driver productivity.
The Motor Carrier Act of 1980, also known as 'deregulation', removed federal entry controls in interstate trucking which made the industry substantially more competitive and increased the total number of trucking companies in operation.

702,092 ILLEGAL & UNSAFE PARKING
On any given night in America there are over 1,000,000 drivers hauling freight. Between the hours-of-service restrictions and the limited availability of spaces, drivers are often forced to the side-streets and o-ramps. They face this daily stress, often with no services, amenities or security.
United States Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Statistics (2019)
HEADLINES SPEAK VOLUMES
More than half of truck drivers park illegally at least three times a week , according to the American Trucking Associations.
“The Minnesota Trucking Association is extremely disappointed with the action of the Minneapolis City Council, It not only bans on-street parking for commercial trucks but it provides no meaningful city resources to address the need for safe truck parking.”

THESE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS The average truck spends one hour per day in peak traic searching for parking. 35 % of trucks on the road are hauling empty trailers (deadhead). As a stand-alone solution, electric trucks cannot solve the problem because of their limited range of travel and prohibitive cost.
At Most Carriers CURRENT DRIVER SHORTAGE EXCEEDS 100,000
Based on current trends, the driver shortage could surpass 160,000 in 2030. Over the next decade, the industry will have to recruit nearly 1,000,000 new drivers.

CONNECTING MAJOR MARKETS WITH 50+ HUBS
RELAY IS A GAME CHANGER
...and as recent as 30 years ago, it was not uncommon for a truck driver to "Run the Wheels Off the Truck" and log 160,000 to 200,000+ miles per year. Over time, the industry endured increased federal regulation and the average annual miles driven continued to drop precipitiously. By 2010, the average had dropped to 105,000 miles per year and then another 25% decrease by 2023 to only 80,000 miles per year. Concurrently, the cost of trucks and trailers kept rising. The net effect is staggering low asset utilization coupled with more expensive equipment that results in an overall HIGHER COST PER MILE.

BIG OPPORTUNITY FOR HUGE GROWTH
PLENTY OF FREIGHT TO GO AROUND There are dozens of major U.S. cities that have more than 20,000 truckloads of freight arriving or leaving the area every single day! The largest markets ship or receive between 40,000 - 90,000 loads per day. The LineHaul Express initial relay load activity level is planned for only 50 outbound loads per day for each regional hub with an expectation to grow load volume to 1,000 per day . At this rate, total market penetration will still be less than 2-4% for most markets.
