A World Away

I don’t want to be alone tonight I just want to feel your arms around mine Holding me close and lyin ’ next to you Your tender lovin ’ the whole night through The moon ’s shining bright, the stars are out And I’m thinking that somewhere you’ll see them too I’m holding that picture close The one where it’s you and us both I’m a million miles and a world away But your letters always make my day So, I’ll say goodnight, send you a kiss And close my eyes knowing that you’re safe tonight

You’re in my locket and my heart too There’s no one else I’d give the world to

I wake in the morning to the dusty air There is nothing like the world of warfare The movements feel slow, but the day goes fast ‘ T il we can move we’re a t an impasse Shots are fired, we ’re braving the storm Winds are heavy, w e’re staying true to compass So, I’m holding that picture close The one where it’s you and us both I’m a million miles and a world away But your letters always make my day So, I’ll say goodnight, send you a kiss And close my eyes knowing that you’re safe tonight

You’re in my locket and my heart too There’s no one else I’d give the world to

I d on’t know how the story ends , but I know that my love is true I don’t know how to get back from here, how to get back home to you

But I’m holding onto hope that we’ll be one again So, keep on writing me with your paper and pen

Because I’m holding that picture close The one where it’s you and us both I’m a million miles and a world away But your letters always make my day So, I’ll say goodnight, send you a kiss And close my eyes knowing that you’re safe tonight

You’re in my locket and my heart too There’s no one else I’d give the world to.
