ZIP Codes where at least one in five homes is a vacant “zombie” foreclosure
Out of the 342,034 U.S. residential properties in the foreclosure process, 14,312 of them are vacant “zombies”, accounting for 4.18 percent. While the number of vacant foreclosures has plummeted over the last few years, there are still 40 zip codes where at least one in every five homes is a zombie.
