Staci Saeger, NAI Summit “Work-life balance is to plan, plan, and plan again”

ell us how and when you began your ca- reer in the profession you are in: After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Communications, I entered the world of B2B sales for the first four years. During that time, I thoroughly enjoyed helping clients navigate their business needs and solve their problems. I could see the change my efforts and the company’s services pro- vided have done for them and I began wanting to help craft and distribute the message of how we could help other businesses on a larger level. I got involved in marketing committees during my sales time and really grew a pas- sion for discovering new ways to reach our target markets and the art of messaging. In 2012, I was hired for a Marketing position at NAI Summit where I really got to focus and growmy knowledge. Sheepishly when I started at Summit, I didn’t know a lot about the industry. After some time as I learned more and more, my passion extended to Real Estate. Not only was I able to spread the word of how we can help with our various service lines, but I was also a part of promoting our region which I feel very fervent about as well. It has been the perfect match ever since! What is your current po- sition? My current position at NAI Summit is Director of Marketing. I am responsible for the marketing of all available properties in our portfolio from sales and leasing to investment and development opportunities. Furthermore, I am responsible for marketing all service lines our premier full service firm offers including brokerage, property management, ac- counting services, consulting, and building services. Other components of my position include advertising, sponsor- ships, presentations, propos- als, research, content creation, social media, branding, and de- veloping marketing strategies and tactics to promote business. In addition, I hold my real es- tate license here as well. Being very passionate about real estate, I felt it was extremely important to get additional education so I could better assist my colleagues as well as better fully market our brand. With this added insight and knowledge, I have a greater understanding of their role and what the process entails from a broker perspective which has provided me a deeper under- standing of our clients’ needs and T

after work or on the weekends are lifesavers when situations occur where one item needs more attention or things need to be adjusted. It provides you the flexibility that you may not have had if you overbook your- self. If one thing may happen to take longer or problems arise that you didn’t anticipate, that free time is there to save you without the stress of trying to squeeze it in at a less inconve- nient time. I’ve always planned in advance since our schedules are crazy and constantly on the go, but placing those free times on my calendar has been life-changing and truly a stress reliever! 

review my calendar daily and not just for the present day. I look over the entire month to guarantee I don’t miss anything and every free moment I have, I designate it to the area that needs it most whether its family time, relaxation for myself, time with friends, a board I sit on, a networking/business event, or something pertaining to my job. With life, things happen or need to be moved around and depending on certain weeks or goals I am trying to accomplish, some items take priority over others. That’s where scheduling in free days on your calendar is crucial! Including days where you have nothing scheduled

overall connecting to clients in our marketing efforts in my main role as Director of Marketing. How do you manage the work/life balance? As a parent of a pre-teen that is involved in way too many activities while also sitting on three boards and one marketing committee, this

is a constant struggle. The key for me to manage my work-life balance is to plan, plan, and plan again, ahead of time but also to not overbook and over- extend myself. By having a set schedule, I ensure I am spending enough time in all areas of my life that are important to me. I
