“Effective communication between employees, managers & staff, etc. is one of themost important things”

I am involved in all aspects of my company which include financial responsibilities, tech- nical projects, marketing/ business development, and employment/hiring. I also act as a major source of qual- ity control to ensure that our clients are receiving a quality product, which includes ev- erything from onsite environ- mental services to technical reports. What unique qualities and or personality traits do you feel makes you most suc- cessful in your profession? I feel like I am a reasonable

down to earth person who can understand the needs of our client. I am not overly worried about minutia and am more focused on getting our clients what they need. What challenges and or obstacles do you feel you needed to overcome to be- come as successful as you are today? I was moved to management within my company at a young- er age than most, and I have had to overcome obstacles of dealing with technical people who had more experience than I while also managing them properly. Effective commu- nication between employees, managers and staff, etc. is one of the most important things in my business. What outside activities do you enjoy during your free time? I am an avid outdoor sportsman who loves hunting and fishing. I also enjoy hiking and skiing. I have also traveled across the country to several national parks over the years. What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young executive graduating from college today? I tend to see young people graduating college who seem to be more concerned about what they can gain from a company rather than also focusing on what benefits they can add through their employment. I would recommend that they pick a job/career that will allow them to improve themselves professionally while at the same time also providing value/ benefit for the company employ- ing them. These things are not mutually exclusive in the right professional atmosphere, and graduates should know the importance of demonstrating that.  these are a few of my favorite things College: Allegheny College Book: Into the Wild Movie: Almost Famous Team: Pittsburgh Steelers Sport: Hockey
