Role Description Summary of Role:

Supports the delivery of all capital and project works across the CLV UK Portfolio, providing support to operations and managing the delivery of life cycle works. The Life Cycle and Capital Works Manager will be a key member of the estates team responsible for the delivery of works on time, within budget and to the CLV agreed specification. Work closely with the procurement team, finance team and Lifecycle manager to ensure best value is achieved across all projects. Position Level: Level 1 – Self Management Reports to: Head of Estates Direct Reports: None Relationships: Contractors and suppliers Investment & funders Representatives Finance Teams (Internal) CLV central support teams, particularly Cap Ex Team, Procurement, Maintenance Managers, Village Managers and sub contractors Mobility: This role will be based predominantly in Manchester Support Office in Salford Quays however some travel around the UK may be required to support the delivery of lifecycle and condition reporting as well as ad hoc visits as and when required to existing or new sites Authorities: n/a Effective Date: July 2021

Key Accountabilities: Maintenance services

• Measurement, collection and maintenance of asset data through condition surveys. • Managing and maintaining detailed whole life cost models (total fund value 300 million) • Ensure compliance with project deliverables • Undertake effective project forecasting and support the life cycle budget process • Agree variations to the life cycle projects • Liaise with the operations team, client, technical advisers, funders, SPV and all other stakeholders in respect of programming and planning of lifecycle and capital works • To provide technical advice and support for other members of the CLV team • Work with the CLV operational team regarding life cycle and capital works planning. • Work with the Procurement Manager in the procurement, management and delivery of life cycle works and refurbishment projects ensuring that technical specifications undergo a continuous improvement, delivering best value to CLV • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role • Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time and to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and business needs

About You: Key Competencies: • Proven competence either via degree level qualification or chartership via a professional body in a property / cost planning discipline or commensurate related experience • Ideally from a building surveying, quantity surveying, project management or engineering background • Good understanding of construction quantification and costing • IT literate and numerate • Competant MS Excel skills • Proven background in the student accommodation market/sector (desireable not essential) • Operational management experience of project works, including the negotiation of works with subcontractors • Proven background in FM, maintenance delivery, and estates management • Experience of and ability to interpret contract documentation • Proven background in project delivery

• Information management skills • Full driving licence is required • Commercially astute • Role is subject to a DBS check

Qualifications and Experience Required Experience • Experience of managing and maintaining detailed whole life cost models for a varied portfolio of assets (Essential)

• Proven experience of project management and contract administration duties • Experience of working within a fast paced and ever changing environement • Minimum of 5 years experience in the built environment

Qualifications • Degree qualified in Building surveying, Quantity Surveying or a construction based discipline • Full UK Drivers Licence and own car (Essential)

The salary on offer for this role is Up to £60,000 plus; • 5+5% pension
