D2.02 Exhaust Systems

Exhaust Systems Considerations Checklist:

Separate dedicated exhaust systems discharging to façade will be provided to ventilate: (a) Bathrooms, en-suites, common area toilets. (b) Laundry and European laundry. (c) Waste and re-cycling rooms (d) Cleaners room (e) Lift lobbies and associated corridors that do not have direct access to openable windows or vents.

Exhaust fans are to have the capacity to easily perform and operate with the required duct lengths within each dwelling.

Each system to be individual switched.

All ductwork to be plastic or metal ductwork (flexible duct not approved). All exhaust fans to any habitable space must have non-return draught dampers. Consideration shall be given to the location of all exhaust vents to ensure they are not located immediately adjacent to an adjoining dwelling’s private open space or openable windows.

High Density Exhaust Systems Considerations Checklist:

Where mechanical exhaust fans are provided in below ground car parking areas, they shall be fitted with air quality sensors, variable speed fans, ventilated roller doors and other controls to reduce energy consumption. Mechanical equipment that serves the shared components of the Development, such as car park exhaust fans, shall comply with the noise limits determined in accordance with the State Environment Protection Policy (Control of Noise from Commerce, Industry and Trade) No. N-1.

D2.03 Rangehoods

Rangehoods Considerations Checklist:

Rangehood exhaust system complete with axial booster fan and proprietary plastic or metal ductwork (flexible duct not approved) discharging to façade.

Recirculating range hoods will not be accepted.
