To provide ecient and high-quality internal lighting.
Electrical fittings and fixtures must be installed to code, tested, and certified by a qualified installer. All electrical fixtures and fittings are to be high quality, ecient and readily available.
Internal Lighting Considerations Checklist: •
Easily maintained especially if raked ceilings etc.

General lighting should be LED downlights (living, kitchen, dining, etc).
Design Criteria Electrical Considerations Checklist: •
Oyster fittings acceptable in bedrooms.
Electrical installation to comply with the following: (a) National construction code. (b) Relevant Australian Standards. (c) Electrical Wiring Rules AS/NZS 3000 (e) Electrical Supply Authority requirements.
IXL in bathrooms or (alternatively radiant panels are to be considered for single dwellings only).
Laundries to have LED downlights.
Bathrooms to have LED downlights (IP44 rated).
Fire stairs LED linear fitting with polycarbonate covers (emergency fitting on landings). Wall lights should be considered wall lights where ceilings are inaccessible.

Check placements of telephone, electrical, TV outlets etc against furniture layout locations. All electrical appliances must have a minimum warranty period of 2 years.

Lighting Control and Switching (a) Common areas to be controlled by motion sensors.
(b) Internal Common areas to have 24-hour lights to provide ambient light until sensors turn on main lighting. Note: in some areas ambient light can be provided by exit lights. (c) Apartment switches Clipsal 2000 Series. Emergency and Exit Lighting. (a) A Clevertronics emergency and exit lighting system incorporating a central monitoring facility. (b) Electrical contractor shall provide remote access for managing their system and producing compliance reports. MATV / IPTV (a) Provide TV system capable of receiving all free-to-air and Pay TV (Foxtel) to all dwellings living area and main bedroom. (b) Where any building has a reception area provide a single MATV outlet.

All electrical light fittings must be high quality, ecient and readily available.
Lighting Considerations Checklist:

Preference for 3000K warm white colour temperature. Avoid cool whites where possible.

LED strip lighting and fittings are acceptable.
SDA Lighting Considerations Checklist:
NBN (a) NBN cabling system to each dwelling / apartment. (b) Cat 6A cable to each telephone and data outlet.

Light switches are large format (min. width of 35mm)
Lighting within SDA dwellings is compatible with assist technology to allow for future remote operation of lights from personal device (ie. Tablet).
