D3.06 Emergency Power Supply (UPS)

Emergency power supply requirements are for SDA dwellings only.
SDA Emergency Power Supply Requirements:
General
Power pre-wiring (capped GPO) provided to the strike and the head (hinge-side) of all doors – joinery doors excluded Power pre-wiring (capped GPO) to the head of all windows

Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) unit is preferred emergency power solution
Emergency power solution provides power (minimum) to: (a) DGPO on either side of participant bed (b) Any automated doors along the path of egress
Hallways
1 x DGPO
(c) Lighting required to facilitate safe egress from dwelling
Kitchen
2 x DGPOs (minimum) in kitchen
At least 1 DGPO shall be within 300mm forward reach from the front edge of the bench

Emergency power solution is to provide continuous power backup (no warm-up or lag-time) to ensure essential services are continually available. Hardware for emergency power solutions are discretely located, but readily accessible for servicing requirements.
